For some protocols the number of parameters depends on the selected transport media only (file vs socket). Other protocols are independent of file/socket and have a fixed or flexible number of parameters... And one could argue that when an input file for a protocol is configured, fg should also abort, when the file is missing (fg does so for other missing files). So for the perfect solution it's not enough to just count parameters. A clean solution would be to split the protocol initialization: to...

Sure. The other debug lines in the module's code have been there for many years though. I guess it's still Curt's or David's code. After almost 15 years of no use, we're probably safe to remove it though :-). I'm also happy to use nullptr. The function still uses "NULL" in all the other places though. But I'm ok to change the new line. Merge request is updated... Also includes a new minor fix for the TCAS module...
