Hi Victor, THank you for the quick reply. That's a shame. Thanks for the advice. It's something i'll look into. Cheers Chris
Really heop someone can help with this please. Trying to resolve an issue with my encrypted internal D: (mounted as E:). When trying to open files i get the following "Windows cannot find 'E:\File name'. Make sure you;ve typed the name correctly then try again. " However, if i right click and choose "open with". The files all open perfectly well. Does anyone know what is causing this? If i solve this i may solve why Win 10 it keep crashing when trying to open certain files on the encrypted drive....
HIi Michael. I realise this is an old post. I was wondering if you woudl be so kind to look at the post i made on my problem to see if the issue you found could be the cause of my problem. I do not know to find let alone resolve the issue you state. https://sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/discussion/general/thread/2475529dad/
Hi Victor, I'm having similar problems. Did you find a solution. Here's the thread i posted. I've not resolved the issue yet. https://sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/discussion/general/thread/2475529dad/
Well, update for anyone reading. I thought i would just use libreoffce for all Word docs and taht would fix it. But i've just downloaded some new software (downloads file in on the encrypted E:). The software seemed to install just fine. however, when i come to open it...i get the same Win 10 crash as i do with Word...so it is not just word. Must be some Windows setting. Can someone please help?
Doesn't help. Stuck now.
I don't have Win Defender running - i have third party AV and Malwarebytes. Have been through both of these and neither have stopped anything in their history recently. So it is not likely to be them. I'm feeling very pleased that Libre office opens the word files ok. Makes me thing it can't be anything too serious. Plus, if the very worst happens, i' just had to use Loffice instead of word (which is a 2002 version!). I don't use word heavily - excel i use ALOT more. And Thankfully Excel is working...
This is great. Thanks. No i hadn't thought about that. I don't knwo a great deal about computers and learn by trial and error. Will look into this now. Thanks. It definitely looks like Word is the culprit. I can open the very same files using Libreoffice and there is no problem. I've played with word's file saving settings and such, but it hasn't helped.
