Work around is good. To implement that in Clonezilla with all the extra steps is probably beyond the purpose of the program. Just knowing it can be done is a big deal. I think some clear instructions should be included, though. Hello Steve, It appeared the issue was fixed so that the solution panreyes found is easier to implement? It almost sounded like you made a change to the code almost 3 years ago near the end of April, see below. If that piece is noted in the app and guides you through the process that would be very welcome. I assume the prerequisite is shrinking the source partition to be below the size of the target drive before taking the image. Then when restoring to use -icds only and -k1 is not needed. Steve...

Has this issue with creating an image from a larger source HDD which contains data that would easily fit on a smaller HDD been resolved? (This has been a long-running issue many wished a solution for.) Is this method restricted to creating an image of a partition on a larger source HDD which partition is smaller than the target HDD? (Guess it makes a difference how I ask the question.) I assume in creating the image, that Clonezilla can't tell what's data and what's empty space and just goes after...

There appears to be an independent effort in this direction though I cannot say how successful it will be: https://github.com/tkchia/biefircate You mentioned some DOS apps accessing BIOS directly, so not sure if this person is taking that into account. It would be fantastic if this was a solution. Another good solution (in my case) is if a bare metal hypervisor (type 1 hypervisor) existed that can accept an install of FreeDOS as a guest OS. The smaller footprint the better. I have a bunch of Intel...

This seems to work acceptably on Windows 10. I saw questions about Folder Size not being in Control Panel and it wasn't for me at first, but you have to exit and go back into the CP and it shows up. The CP applet lets you change to display in GB if you want, though a MB option would be even nicer. The "Show Folder Size popups" option is on the tray icon.

Hello Alain, I carefully detailed the problem and what you would need to do to see it. It happens with the XDEL command that is/was part of FreeDOS 1.3 RC1 In this case it was installed in a VirtualBox for Windows VM but that should not matter. If you like we can get together sometime on a TeamViewer session after I setup my FreeDOS VM again and I can show the problem to you. Thanks for your reply, Steve Sybesma On 2022-05-25 06:26, Alain Mouette wrote: Hi, I am the author of XDEL 2.06. Sorry but...
