I wanted to let you know that after reviewing the version ID of the two FFmpegs I had, I found that I had the same versions. The reason the one I had didn't work with DVDStyler, before I posted this post, was that I had gotten the Static version. DVDStyler wants the Shared version of FFmpeg. So if someone else has the same problem, make sure you tell them to always get the Shared version from Reino's site and not the Static one.

Thanks for the link. I will be using that link for FFmpeg from this point forward. As for the FFmpeg changing the way it interfaces, that's also weird. Why would you purposely want to break compatibility with software that may be using it? It would make no sense, but would to me, be more harmful to the use of FFMpeg as a whole. It seems weird when a lot of devs say their goal is to get their application working on as many machines as they can out in the wild, yet then lock out software and hardware,...

Thanks, updating to the DVDStyler-XP.zip worked. I had a newer version downloaded for FFmpeg, but since it had a weird version identifier as "FFmpeg-N-XXX-XXXX", it made it hard to determine what version it actually was. After it crashed the first time, I tried updating it to the "FFmpeg-N-XXX-XXXX" version and it still crashed. I made an educated guess that it was v3. Thanks and this topic can be closed.

I downloaded the 32-Bit version. It pops up that error upon trying to just start it. It means the Visual C++ compiler was not set to make it where the application could run on Windows XP. I think some sort of setting has to be set. I read about it, but can't personally say what it is because I've never seen it myself since I don't own Visual C++. Here is an article which is about it. They call it targeting. https://devblogs.microsoft.com/cppblog/targeting-windows-xp-with-c-in-visual-studio-2012/

Yes, I have used Linux, butg I doubt anything newer Linux will support a machine with a Pentium 4 Hyperthreading processor. If so, that would be news to me. Mainly the issue is the age of the machine. Hopefully, one day I can build a Linux monster box and just virtual box any apps I can't use under Linux with a Windows Box. As for the newer Windows, even those fixes dont' take away from the annoying cell phone menu style they put into the thing. I have a lot of applicatons that the block menu would...

The machine that DVDStyler is compiling DVDs on, is an XP machine that is not powerfulp enough to run newer OSes. It might be able to move up to Windows 7 if drivers for the motherboard components could be obtained. However, that OS would be dropped next year by Microsoft and then soon after by all these free software developers for some weird reason. The machine would have to be trashed, which is a waste if it can be used to perform lengthy tasks instead of just becoming a paper weight. Oh and Windows...

If DVDStyler v3.1 is ran, it gives an error stating that the entry point AcquireSRWLockExclusive can't be located in KERNEL32.DLL. I presume this is because Windows XP support has been dropped for good. If so, please confirm. I didn't see anything in the release notes from v3.0.4 to v3.1 about Windows XP being dropped.

I apologize. I forgot to mention that I am using v3.0.4. Thanks for creating such a great program.

I got the name order for the attachments backwards. Under video properties, when "Keep Aspect ratio" is checked and you select "crop" from the menu, it enables the border options. (SEE Video-02.png) However, when you select "border" from the menu, it enables the crop options. (SEE Video-01.png)
