It cares about 127.0.0.1 in resolv.conf if you have configured Virtualmin to manage your DNS. If Virtualmin is not managing your DNS, turn it off in Features and Plugins and it won't care. If you do use Virtualmin to manage your DNS locally, then add 127.0.0.1 to your resolv.conf (you have 127.0.1.1, which won't make Virtualmin stop complaining, as it only looks for 127.0.0.1). So, either do what the message says (add 127.0.0.1 to your resolv.conf as a nameserver), or turn off the DNS feature in...

i knew through some useful threads on ubuntu forum that i should change my network name enp7s0 to eth0 That shouldn't be necessary, at all. Virtualmin shouldn't care about that, but might get confused about which network interface is the right one. If you manually set your hostname to a fully qualified hostname, it won't need to know which interface to use. I strongly recommend you do that (set a fully qualified domain name before installation) instead of changing the name of the device. Read the...

Also, Virtualmin questions are probably best asked at virtualmin.com forums. There's a lot more activity over there.

Edit: Oops, I posted this on the wrong thread...Same OP, so I'll just leave it here. I've never heard of that book. Jamie and I have both published Webmin books ages ago, but they're outdated and we merged them both into a wiki here where they get updated pretty regularly: http://doxfer.webmin.com And, there's hundreds of pages of Virtualmin docs at https://www.virtualmin.com/documentation I get that they're a little hard to navigate, and we're working on a rebuild of the index and such to make it...

But, there's a ton of information there. And, the download/install...

As mentioned in the docs, the Virtualmin installation works best with a freshly installed OS. Packages from non-standard sources are extremely likely to conflict, and even if they don't conflict, they're likely to cause hard to diagnose issues down the road. If you installed your LAMP stack from the standard CentOS repositories, it'll work fine...but, if you got it from somewhere else, all bets are off. Looks like you have some PHP packages that are incompatible with the CentOS standard PHP packages....
