Here is a tip if you wanted to periodically cycle your wallpaper only if screen is unlocked (and presumably you are there). It is for people who have chosen to have windows lock screen automatically when the are not using their PC (see screen saver settings). In my case I have a hot key setup to lock the screen (using another tool) which I use when I leave my PC running. As you are aware the command line options are found here: http://dualmonitortool.sourceforge.net/dmt.html Here are the alternatives...

Using npp run command to do some testing: cmd /k echo "$(SYS.TEMP)" $(CURRENT_WORD) $(NPP_DIRECTORY) "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)" Last 3 vars are ok but $(SYS.TEMP) did not work for me. I am using v6.7.7 from 2015 (will update eventually). Did $(SYS.env-var) get introduced in a later version? I read http://docs.notepad-plus-plus.org/index.php?title=External_Programs&oldid=1845 which was written in 2009 and it has $(SYS.env-var) but the v6.6.4 help file http://docs.notepad-plus-plus.org/index.php/NP%2B%2B_Guides...

I updated v2.6 to v2.7 when I started DMT it failed with "DMT - Unhandled Non-UI Thread Exception" I copied newer file versions from zip file to current install folder while keeping my current XML config files as I have always done before. Platform(s): XP SP3 (32bit) Anyone else encountered this?

"Bounce to edge" or maybe I should have said "shove to nearest screen edge automatically" as the title (which I can't change). Do you think it might be useful to add a "shove-it" like feature to DMT? shove-it is an old utility from the 1990's it purpose is "monitoring your application windows and correcting any that stray out of the desktop bound". It does resize windows if larger than screen (optional), it triggers automatically. Shove-it settings look like this: It does exactly what I need for...

I have been using this old utility from the 1990's it purpose is "monitoring your application windows and correcting any that stray out of the desktop bound". It does resize windows if larger than screen (optional), it triggers automatically. It's called shove-it and looks like this shove-it does exactly what I need ONLY FOR a single monitor setup because it does not see multimonitor setups on the primary monitor. Since installed it has been used at least 20,000 times on my laptop - mainly because...

Since the error can occur just under 48 hr interval, my workaround has been to schedule a DMT.exe restart every 24hrs. I don't change wallpaper when DMT starts, so this works for me.

In v2.6.0 (still using this) in wallpaper changer | edit provider is an option "file browse (experimental)". I could not find anything documented about it in this project. I am just curious what did it do or what was it panned to do? Does it still appear in v2.7?

I will have a go at answering that as I am currently researching looking for something like that. That is, do one search accross multiple machines into one result list. Consider an example of a house with many windows machines having a sharing role it would be increadibly handy to be able to do one search from any machine on LAN to multiple shared folders. Not everyone can afford to have one massive NAS with all files served so file collections are split over many machines. Let's also assume that...

"DMT SNAP ACTIVE WINDOW UP" is 31 pixels lower than taskbar as shown in my setup picture on XP systems. Image shows taskbar at top of screen setup and window position after snap up The "option for DMT" window on screen 2 was snapped to correct location. Anyone else has come across this. Can you reproduce behaviour?

Gerald, thank you so much for your great software Dual Monitor Tools give me features that still run on an old XP machine 10/10. I came accross LUA api and scripting in Videolan some - script example https://addons.videolan.org/p/1154045/ Have you considered adding LUA scripting api - I have no idea if that is really difficult.
