Dear Peter, I am using a 2vcore / 2Gig configuration for 5,50 EUR per month to avoid any bottlenecks (but I guess that is not even necessary, looking at the CPU / Ram load on the system when we are connected). I also set-up a similar second server in a nother Datacenter (in Berlin) and my main findings so far was that the server configuration (e.g. if you are using a real-time kernel or not) does not create any difference for me, much more the issue is the network routing from the various clients...

Dear Volker, thanks for your excellent work on Jamulus, especially over the last couple of weeks! Here are my current thoughts and potential feature requests: My main whish (80% priority) currently would be "only" a more stable audio overall (less dropouts/bubbles/"knacken"), and only the second concern (20%) would be improved latency (if that requires an even better ISP connection). My experience from bringing our band online is, that depending on the individual ISPs and their routing, with some...

Hi Peter, after some more investigation and trial and error our current setup is as follows: 1) I first tried a private server at a Berlin datacenter (https://www.de.inter.net/) on a small Ubuntu instance, that gives me and our guitarrist (also from Berlin) perfect ping times. Both of us are using DSL lines and are routed with only few hops without leaving Berlin. Nevertheless, two more Berlin-based members of the band have Vodafone / Kabel Deutschland Cable internet and a) generally speaking have...

Dear all, I am just trying to bring our band online and set-up a Ubuntu server at a Berlin based hoster (thanks for the great step-by-step guide here). From my home (also in Berlin, using a DSL line) I get a Ping of around 6-8ms and an overall Delay of around 35-40ms with Jitter buffers manually set to 5/5. So that works fine on my side. A second band member (also from Berlin) using DSL is fine, too, with similar latency. The problems now start with other band members (from Berlin) that do not use...
