Mac Mojave using wxmaxima from homebrew 19.8.0 (actually my own compile of 19.8.1 at the moment) This one really confused me: straight quotes in my maxima-init.mac were being turned into smart quotes, causing maxima to fail to launch, and wxmaxima to get stuck on the first cell calculation. Thanks for this; I was seeing the same problems, and had done a brew uninstall wxmaxima and gone back to the version 15 available on https://wxmaxima-developers.github.io/wxmaxima/download.html as a mac app, but that was missing subsubsections and other things I had started using. brew install --HEAD wxmaxima downloaded the sources so I could recompile using the instructions in Compiling.md.
