It would also help if the way filters work actually made sense. For instance, I have a sub-tree I want to filter on containing a specific icon. I select "Icon" "Contains" and the icon in question, make sure the sub-tree is selected, and click on "Filter selected nodes". However, some of the nodes that are not visible do NOT contain the required icon. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, butif so, it shouldn't be that easy!

It's been over 7 years, where's the ability to "find and replace" based on the icon? Personally I find normal searching and filtering very annoying because to preserve how my map is folded I have to remember to select the root node and save before I start searching so I can revert when I am done searching. For this reason the "find and replace" option is very useful, due to the fact that it allows me to see a list of matches without disturbing the map unless I specifically choose to jump to it. I'm...

Hmm... on my Windows device Ctrl+Tab does "Next Map" which only cycles between tabs in a single view. It does not let me switch to the next view if I have gone to the "View" menu, selected "New map view" and then dragged the second tab out so I have a split view of the same map (which lets me see two different parts of the same map at the same time).

A bit more observation while using Freeplane suggests that if I do something in one view (such as move around, edit a node, etc.) and then click directly on a node in another view, that view suddenly shifts up over half a window height instead of selecting the node. If I click well outside any area with a node nearby the view gets focus, but of course then I have an extra click to select whatever node I was going for. I have been having some issues with clicking to switch between views. If I'm not playing close attention perhaps I am sloppy clicking or something, the map will frequently jump to a different location instead of selecting the node I am try to select in the next view, defeating the point of being able to open multiple views of the same map. Anyway, I would really like to use the keyboard. It would be more convenient anyway, and avoid wrecking my train of thought when it unexpected jumps around. How...
