Yes indeed, not required a new branch and at some point after you will review the modifications maybe you can integrate that in the tree directly

I thought that will be more obvious a branch with development name instead to have the development in a branch (master) with same version with latest stable version, but probably i am missing something.

Hello, I have ported Fuse emulator 1.5.7 and libspectrum 1.4.4 to my Vu+ Solo4K arm stb receiver. Here you can find the bitbake recipes, patches for VU and remote control key maps and binary packages https://github.com/serdeliuk/MS-ZX80 Please note that the SDL by itself does not care or implement yet RC keys, so a patched version of SDL it is requried or use my SDL2 patch to add RC keys, please see the readme file. Many thanks and enjoy, Marc

It compile fine without requirement of SDL, i have uninstalled all SDL versions and are not required, but if are found are linked, if are linked and remove the sdl packages the fuse does not start as it complains about missing sdl library, same situation if i move the fuse executable on a machine which does not have SDL libraries.

I have tested the patch and if i run configure alone it select alsa by default for audio driver and gtk interface, however the SDL2 library is linked to the fuse executable, if i pass just --disable-sdl2 it happens the same, alsa with gtk but it is linked against SDL1 this time, why it is linked if it is not used? Or it is used somehow even it is not selected? $ ldd fuse | grep -i sdl libSDL2-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libSDL2-2.0.so.0 (0x00007f0c832c2000)

If i compile fuse from master and 1.5.7 branches the resulting fuse binary report same version 1.5.7 I asume that the branch 1.5.7 provides stable release of 1.5.7 and the master branch provides development/rc for next release, right? Can you please change the version on master branch then? To something more relevant, let say 1.5.7-rc, 1.5.7-master, 1.5.7-devel or something diferent than other versions which provides 1.5.7 or maybe better move the development on a development branch and keep the...
