I installed a 64-bit devuan-based Peppermint. Once in it, I tried to install my preferred browser, Brave.
I want a remastering tool, in order to keep an updated iso of my Peppermint installation. Would the Refracta programs work? I'll install them and find out, but I would guess that they do: I am running the Devuan-based Peppermint, and Refracta works in Devuan--that's where I discovered Refracta.
I find that the Peppermint installer won't work unless I connect to my network. But trying to install online often leads to failed installation attempts. The problem isn't Peppermint, it's the servers of the sites it's trying to install/update from. I read the error messages to see why the installation failed, and I keep seeing that the sites timed out. I would like to install offline as with my other distros, and worry about updates only afterward. I swear I thought I successfully installed offline...

I am trying to install Peppermint, but keep running into a problem. While I let it sit during installation, the screensaver keeps coming on. That is a problem because I don't know the default password to get past it. I've tried things like "user," "demo," and "PeppermintOS." I eventually realized that I can probably solve this by making sure I turn off the stupid screensaver before installing (or any other task where I might let the computer sit). But I should nevertheless find out what the default...
