Thank you very much for your reply. A few days ago I ran the chkdsk command and the command window requested reboot, after without having started the operating system the chkdsk command was executed (before the login screen) I did it well? Thanks!!

1.- What approximate value of PIM is necessary for a very good security in the system encryption? 2.- Can I use "Eraser by Heidi" software to erase the free space of Windows if the system is encrypted with VeraCrypt? 3.- If the system is encrypted, the boot password (in UEFI mode) or its length (in legacy mode) could be retrieved by an attacker?. https://blog.quarkslab.com/security-assessment-of-veracrypt-fixes-and-evolutions-from-truecrypt.html - Is this problem fixed?

Thank you very much for your answer and for solving my doubt. I'm very worried about security, and TPM is very dangerous.

I have thought of something that, in my opinion, is very important. A good security measure could be to create/modify the passwords through an MS-DOS screen, before starting the operating system. This would significantly increase security by the extreme security breach in Microsoft Windows systems (PRISM, XKeyscore, Tempora, Malware in general, Exploits, Vulnerabilities, etc.). I have seen that the PIM value is stored on the disk without encryption, why?, it would be safer saved in encrypted form,...

Two additional questions, with your permission: How do I know that VeraCrypt does not use TPM? Can I use "Eraser by Heidi" software to erase the free space of Windows if the partition is encrypted with VeraCrypt? Thanks again.
