I am using a cinnamon desktop and some "unstable" packages with the original Feb 2022 PEP release ISO but I found bluetooth connection success by adding the package " libspa-0.2-bluetooth " using synaptic package manager. This package is needed by pulseaudio to work with pipewire. Perhaps it should get included on the ISO with the rest of the bluetooth stack? Previously, the bluetooth device would show up but would fail upon connection. I am using bluetooth version 5.66-1 and added libspa-0.2-bluetooth...
I have attached these instructions for those that would prefer a local copy. If you prefer to read this online, here we go... I have used many pdf tools and viewers in Linux and each has a sweet spot of functionality. For example, pdfarranger is great for assembling, moving and organizing pdf pages while the lightweight viewers like Atril are great for a quick glance. However,if you want to mark up,with comments, draw shapes, add text boxes, OCR text, edit fillable forms, add page numbers or measure...
Whaaaat?? Kumo is not Japanese for spider? I guess not everything on the internet is true... "Cloud" is more appropriate anyway.
Can I suggest a two colour outlined font for better contrast of the name? I tried to attach a screen shot of my rendering that took exactly 18 seconds to make... I hope you get the idea.
I like it. I was thinking spiders (Kumo in translation) but did wanted to avoid the associated creepiness a lot of people have about them. If I had known other languages were fair game...I would have had a few more choices to suggest! LOL!
This thread needs some action! Random yet meaningful ideas: Web Salad, Peppermint Fusion, Web Weapon, WebBase, PageBase, PepWeb, PIC (Peppermint Internet Catalog or Pep Internet Collector) , Webthing, urlwrangler(urlw), PIP (Peppermint Internet Protocol), HomePage, HomeBase, Should be food for opinions...
Hi OldTon, here is the mouse pointer I use: https://www.gnome-look.org/p/999749 Instructions are at the link and It is a white pointer with a red halo. Good contrast for visibility.
Just a shot in the dark... what are your power managements settings? Have you set the power button option to "shut down immediately"?
Hi Gregory, it sounds like you are close to getting your script to autostart. 1. I have used /home/"username"/.config/autostart/ folder before and saved a file with "scriptname" 2. Make sure "scriptname" permissions has been changed to allow it to "execute as program" 3. Create/Add a new custom start up entry in "Session and Startup" and use the entire path from step 1 above as the command entry: /home/"username"/.config/autostart/ "scriptname" Let me know how it works.
Good news Mintspider! Let me know if you have any issues with any of the features as I have used this software for a few years.

Thanks for the tip Mintspider. I also have to remote in to a work desktop and I currently use Anydesk. Have you used Anydesk before and can you provide some comparison notes on functionality? I will look into DWservice.

I was thinking it would be good to have a theming topic to discuss tips and tricks to making Peppermint more to the user style. For example, I always switch my mouse pointer to use the DMZHaloR theme as I find it easy to find the pointer with many items on screen and the red goes great with the default Peppermint colours. See link below. https://www.gnome-look.org/p/999749

Source Forge should work fine for the new home of Peppermint!
This page is much easier on the eyes with a firefox addon called "Dark Mode". Once installed you can go to preferences and select which dark theme you prefer. I liked the "Simple Dark III as it was the "warmest".
Congrats! I have been living with my cinnamon Peppermint for a few days now and I like it. Since I use the vertical deskbar panel, I get better tray icon size/display and nice previews when hovering over the panel icons for the open windows. However, some features need you to go back to Xfce desktop for adjustments of certain settings. So far not a problem on my lenovo T500 duocore laptop ( from 2008).

I am not familiar with doing things the "correct" debian way. I just keep hacking away until I get things to go my way...or not. If you lay out the instructions to "push things to a repo" I will give it a shot.
The intel only Thinkpads work fantastic with Linux. The hybrid graphics Nvidia-Intel Optimus laptops are more powerful but the drivers are problematic. The display ports are wired directly to the Nvidia graphics card so to extend your monitor to a second external display requires a solution to fire up the Nvidia card. So far only Mint 20 has been able to get that done. I hear that Fedora may also be able to do it, however, I am not that interested in Fedora.
