Yes, fo cordless phones. Did not notice that this is so exotic, here in Germany it is very common. Here a link to the product page Do you think that it can work as i did describe or does the "main" router must be SQM capable ?

I have questions as i am not sure that i understand correctly. If i have a look on the OpenWRT website lots of routers are supported but none with DECT telephone support, as far as in understand cause of licensing issues. My router, a FritzBox 7560, does not support SQM and has a DECT station which we do use. Would it be possible to use a LAN router with Open WRT and activated SQM as an access point behind the DECT router ? does that work or is it nonsens ? My idea is that the LAN chain will then...

I have to apologize but at the moment I do not find time to deal with this topic. First we need to make sure that to have stable conditions while jamming.

yes, i already tried Jamulus OS but unfortunately my Presonus USB audio interface could not be recognized under Linux. If someone has an idea how to get the box working on Linux i would be happy. As i mentioned i asked my bandmates to let measure on fast.com and i have all results. The best values, even if they are not perfect, has our harp man (92Mbit down, 11 MBit up, 10ms latency, loaded 69ms) so we will try to run the server on his notebook instead of mine. As i understand those SQM capable routers...

Hello everybody, yesterday i had the first jam together with 2 friends and unfortunately it was frustrating. Our guitar man has a 150MBit cable connection but was only able to run with buffersize of 10.67ms, with 5.33ms no stable connection was possible for him. The other friend with the harp had a good and clear connection, i am waiting for his measurements on fast.com. I myself had crackles and a huge delay when connecting to the Jamulus server which is running on my notebook, a i5 processor with...

Hello Aerodrummer, i will try in the next week and will reply. This evening i do virtually meet with some friends for a blues jam. Just in case that we need to hear in a song before we play it, i have prepared my tiny MP3 player and do connect it with the headphones output to the 2nd input of my audio interface. That's not the solution i prefer but the most easiest and reliable one... :-) @LarsL: did you place your idea for a "file player" in Jamulus as feature request ? I followed the link but there...

Hello Aerodrummer, did it like you mention. Yes, ReaRoute is installed. VU meter of microphone is acting but still no sound output in the headphones. Inserted MP3 as media file within Reaper and sound in the headphones while connected to a Jamulus session. If playin in Reaper it chops, plays a second...stops...plays a second and so on. Seems to be a performance problem ? but it is an Intel i5 with 8GB ram and nothing else working except Jamulus Client, Server and Reaper. Any suggestion what to check...

Hello Aerodrummer, i appreciate your work and effort but i am close to give up. I made copies of the Ini's and shortcuts, modified them as described, changed the settings of the two sessions and startup reaper, checked that the ASIO drive is selected and opened your project...nothing. I don't know if there is anything wrong in the project settings but the rest is correctly set up, i checked several times and i am pretty sure. Q1: You have defined 2 inputs but as the singer i do only use one, my microphone,...

Hello Aerodrummer, sorry for the late reply and thank you very much for explanation but this is too difficult for me to follow. The last evenings i spent hours and hours to get it working, tried several video descriptions but could not succeed. I expected an easier solution with the Jamulus session, my USB interface, the notebook internal sound output and Reaper "rearoute" MP3's to Jamulus. It is not me preferred solution but actually i play the MP3's with a mini MP3 player connected to the 2nd channel...

What i want is to play backing tracks during a Jamulus session from my notebook if the band is not complete. I installed Reaper and try to follow these instructions but they don't seem to be up to date. Can someone please give an actual step by step description for a noob like me how to route the notebook internal sound output to the output of the external audiointerface during a Jamulus session ? I don't have any experience with Reaper. Thanks in advance Rolf

Ok, again thank you very much for your tipps. As the singer i will take care to increase the volume in my headphones. As already mentioned the sound quality with our harpman is pretty good, i can hear his voice and harp as he's standing close to me amd we are both using the same Presonus interface. With our guitar it is still not satisfying, He can hear me fine but i do hear him as he is far away from the microphone and also his guitar volume is weak. He is using this interface. Yesterday we tried again and it worked. No idea why but It seems that only a reboot was necessary. @Don: The Presonus AudioBox USB has a mix knob. As everything was working i recognized that my voice had a little echo but only on my headphones and not at my bandmate. As i reduced the playback value a little it was gone. Do you mean that we should reduce the playback to zero ?

Hello Vincenzo, thank you for your reply. Yes, that might be but what is wrong ? As i mentioned we have identical hardware and software setups. I told him to use the first port with his mic and adjust the levels of the box the same as i have but still he doesn't hear me. With another bandmate i have the same configuration and it works, both can hear each other. Any other idea ?

i need your help. Yesterday i had a setup session with one of our bandmates. We are both using a Presonus USB Audio Interface with Win10. As he does have very view computer knowledge, i did connect to his PC with Teamviewer and checked that the setup is correctly and it is. If we are both connected to the private server running on my notebook, i can hear me and him in excellent quality without distortion or latency but he can only hear hisself but not me. As it got late yesterday we decided to try...

Hello, from the very beginning i used the Behringer UM2 i had the feeling that something is wrong with it. Once the output is distorted even i reduce the input and output level, then there is a delay even i am close to my mike, then there was a kind of "clipping" noise unsing Jamulus in Windows or under Jamulus OS Live first the output was ok and then it suddenly starts to hum before it returns back to normal operation after a few minutes. All tests i did with my Shure Beta 58 dynamic mike and i...

The UM2 seems to be the cheapest one but as already mentioned here i did return it. Then i bought a used Presonus Audiobox USB, the 48KHz version, for only 25€ on Ebay and i am totally happy. Yesterday i made a test with our bassman running a private server on my Win10 notebook. Compared to the UM2 i have now much lower latency and our bassman told me that the sound quality was excelIent. For me it looks like the Audiobox has simply a better quality so i did recommend to my bandmates not to buy the...

Hey Don, sorry, maybe it did sound like i wanted to criticize Jamulus but that was not my intention. I am very, very glad that people do spend their private time to create such a fanstastic piece of software for us. Pretty sure that my guys will be very happy if everything is working as expected.

  • rolfb rolfb posted a comment on discussion Musicians Lounge

I have the same experience here with our blues band. Our bass man and me are tech-savvy but the guitar player and our drummer are not. I assume that it is still too complicated for them. I've set up a private server and next week I'll be first test with our bass man. If that works, I have already informed the other two to install the software remotely with Teamviewer on their notebooks. I'm very excited to see if Jamulus will work as expected.

Thank you very much for your replies. Al, i did it your way and expanded the persistant memory in Rufus to 2GB (8GB pen drive). The stick is not the fastest one but i can live with the longer boot time as once booted up, everything runs smoothly and now every change seems to be stored...nice ! I try to find out to autoselect german language and bypass the timeout in the boot menu but till now i did not succeed. Any idea how to do this ? That would be perfect.

Hi, i have flashed Jamulus OS with Rufus on a USB stick and it is working much better as under Windows but i can only run it as a live system as i'm unable to delete my internal harddisk with Windows. Unfortunately i cannot save settings on the live stick. Question: Is it possible to install Jamulus from the USB live stick on an external USB hdd and if so, how do i do it ? I saw that there is an "Installation to HDD" icon but i am worried that i damage my internal HDD which would be a desaster.

Hello again, still a little delay but much better with Jamulus OS with only 24ms latency compared to Windows. Question is how to get it to run on my bandmates PCs as they don't have the technical skills. Will try it with teamviewer sessions. Internet connection should be sufficient as our band has 4 members only (vocals, guitar, bass and drums), enough for some blues and blues rock... :-)

Hello Don, thanks for your reply. I already use this driver as the ASIO4ALL was not working at all. If the problem is related to Win10 and the Linux support is better, what about running Jamulus OS from a USB stick on my notebook, could that be the solution ?

Hi everybody, i am new to Jamulus but need help with my setup. I have set up a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4gig to run a private Jamulus server for our bandmates and me. This one is connected to my router (Fritz box 7560 with a short 50 cm LAN cable. As my "studio" is in the cellar i need to connect my client notebook running Jamulus 3.6.2 from there with a 30m LAN cable to the router. My DSL connection is 50Mbit down and 10MBit up. Hello, i am new here and currently preparing everything for Jamulus use. I bought the UM2 last week at Amazon Germany for 29€ only. The ASIO4ALL driver on the Behringer website did not work for me. After some search i did found an (older) 64Bit Behringer driver which seems to work perfectly.
