Hi, It looks like the xmarks-bookmarks file isn't quite the same format as the firefox bookmarks file. however, the error comes from the first or second line in the file ie. the file header. So it's possible that if you open it in a text editor along with a file that bookmark-merger managed to parse then you could see what to change to get it to work? This is assuming that it's just a small difference in the header lines that is causing the problem. Let me know if this helps, regards, Robert On 07/01/18...
ps. Actually, you might need to conver the script line endings to '\n' from '\r\n' for the shbang to work. Sorry, I wrote this code a long time ago on windows. You can use the 'dos2unix' program if you don't know how to do this in your text editor.

Hey, It seems that bookmark_merger.py doesn't have a shbang at the top of the script. If you add !/usr/bin/env python to the top of the script then I think that it should work. Alternatively, run the script using the command python bookmark_merger.py -h
