Yes and no. I don't think OpenTax Solver can actually print directly to the printer. OTOH, generally CUPS (the print software standard with all Linux systems), can generally directly convert PDFs to PS (with GhostScript) and then either send that to a PostScript printer (most Laser Printers are PostScript capable) or run it through a PS to raster converter (usually GhostScript again) for inkjet printers. Or you could install a PDF viewer. xpdf is what I use. evince will also display PDFs (and will...
The make fails on a Raspberry Pi -- the -lm needs to come after the filename(s) in order for the link step to work. I created a ticket with a fixed Makefile attached.
Makefile problem -- option order wrong for Debian Bullseye arm (Raspberry PI)
What Steven Shaiu said pretty much works. We have been doing that at our library for many years. I did need to hack drplpush to comment out the code to start the NIS server, etc.

Is it GTK2 or cairo? Is it related to the (known) issues with cairo's pixmap memory leaks?
I can definately confirm the problem is under both CentOS 6 and Ubuntu 14.04 and it is X Server memory that is leaking. Since the X Server is not generally leaking with any random application and when xtrkcad is killed, the X Server is cleaning up after itself. This strongly suggests that it is specificly XCreatePixmap() calls that are not matched with XFreePixmap(). XCreatePixmap() allocates server memory for use as a drawable, typically asa backing store for complex graphics to generally speed...
