Actually I had no concrete vision so I thought about it. I threw together a small mockup. I would appreciate feedback on my 'presentation'. I made the green box bigger than it really is.

I just took a look at refind plus. Seems like you are more experienced with the ui engine (assuming you are dakanji) so I wouldn't mind you creating a merge request to upstream your ui changes. Maybe also include the scaling option. However I am not sure about your icon_row_move. Personally I would have gone with slightly more flexible theming options with optional percentages and a different naming scheme. In the end it comes down to preference until the maintainer speaks up its just guesswork anyways....

Thanks for the feedback. I am not sure when I will get around to do the changes but I think they are sensible. (Probably will do them sometime in the coming weeks.) What would you think about the addition of some more theming config options. Icon spacing, icon size, menu alignment, etc. To allow themes to support multiple resolutions maybe allow adding a %w/%h in the end of the theme config options to make them a percentage of the resolution. If more theme options are added it might be good to prefix...
