... it requires access to barcodes, and as far as I can tell, X-11 does not provide that. If I'm wrong, please let me know. In the meantime, I'll be looking at other options.

After much turmoil (wont go into that), was finally able to transfer my X-11 basic program to the HD 10, but with surprising results. The smartphone sized display came up as expected, in the upper left side, and the top row of selection buttons seemed to work as they did on my phone. However, as I go down the other 4 rows of buttons, it appears that the cursor that appears when I select a button, moves further and further down away from where I press, and the appropriate buttons do not get selected....

What version of Android and xbasic are you using? I'm using 1.27 on an Android 5.1.1 device. I sometimes use xbasic on a Windows tablet, but not often. Wondering.... Thank you very much, Mr. Troll. Any chance you might be able to address my other questions?

I have just implemented the commands HIDEK and SHOWK which should do what you want. HIDEK hides the virtual keyboard on Android and SHOWK shows it. You may want to use sequences like: ' somecode her SHOWK INPUT "Ender a number: ",a HIDEK PRINT "The number is ";a ' ... The new release 1.25-44 has it. I've been given a couple of extra command statements that have never made their way into the manual. So I was wondering if there is another manual that includes these, plus any more that you may have provided to others. As long as I'm on the subject, is there a Word version of the manual? I cannot search the PDF version. One more thing... is there a way to keep the screen in portrait mode? Seems like everytime I lay the phone close to horizontal, it goes into landscape mode, and when I pick it back...

I wanted to keep you in the loop in case you were interested. I was able to finally get a shortcut after trying several things from page 17 of the manual. By the way, I have V5.1.1 Android. The icon is that of a fused bomb. Is that per design (scary to try).? However, the object file does not provide the same (adequate results) as the .bas or .b file loaded from the x11 launcher, so I’m going to have to give up on that for now. Thanks for your help again… Kevin Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From:...

I think I know what you’re thinking, and it probably goes something like “if this guy can’t figure this out, then he probably shouldn’t be using X11 in the 1st place. And I understand. I am a retired engineer with a fairly extensive s/w background, but all of it is old tech, 8080, 8085, etc. I have googled this, and tried several things, but I am not savvy with cell phone technology. Would you mind a primer on how to create a desktop shortcut from a compiled basic app? I would appreciate it. - Kevin...
