... it requires access to barcodes, and as far as I can tell, X-11 does not provide that. If I'm wrong, please let me know. In the meantime, I'll be looking at other options.

After much turmoil (wont go into that), was finally able to transfer my X-11 basic program to the HD 10, but with surprising results. The smartphone sized display came up as expected, in the upper left side, and the top row of selection buttons seemed to work as they did on my phone. However, as I go down the other 4 rows of buttons, it appears that the cursor that appears when I select a button, moves further and further down away from where I press, and the appropriate buttons do not get selected....

Currently using android X-11 v.1.25 also on a 5.1.1 phone. What version of Android and xbasic are you using? I'm using 1.27 on an Android 5.1.1 device. I sometimes use xbasic on a Windows tablet, but not often. Wondering.... Thank you very much, Mr. Troll. Any chance you might be able to address my other questions?

I have just implemented the commands HIDEK and SHOWK which should do what you want. HIDEK hides the virtual keyboard on Android and SHOWK shows it. You may want to use sequences like: ' somecode her SHOWK INPUT "Ender a number: ",a HIDEK PRINT "The number is ";a ' ... The new release 1.25-44 has it. I've been given a couple of extra command statements that have never made their way into the manual. So I was wondering if there is another manual that includes these, plus any more that you may have provided to others. As long as I'm on the subject, is there a Word version of the manual? I cannot search the PDF version. One more thing... is there a way to keep the screen in portrait mode? Seems like everytime I lay the phone close to horizontal, it goes into landscape mode, and when I pick it back...

I wanted to keep you in the loop in case you were interested. I was able to finally get a shortcut after trying several things from page 17 of the manual. By the way, I have V5.1.1 Android. The icon is that of a fused bomb. Is that per design (scary to try).? However, the object file does not provide the same (adequate results) as the .bas or .b file loaded from the x11 launcher, so I’m going to have to give up on that for now. Thanks for your help again… Kevin Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From:...

I think I know what you’re thinking, and it probably goes something like “if this guy can’t figure this out, then he probably shouldn’t be using X11 in the 1st place. And I understand. I am a retired engineer with a fairly extensive s/w background, but all of it is old tech, 8080, 8085, etc. I have googled this, and tried several things, but I am not savvy with cell phone technology. Would you mind a primer on how to create a desktop shortcut from a compiled basic app? I would appreciate it. - Kevin...

For the 1st time, I've attempted to compile a program. It seemed to work as I now have a xxx.b file and I can run it. My question is if there is a way to make this a runnable file from an icon, rather than having to select X-11 BASIC, load the file, and select RUN? As always, I appreciate the great help you always have provided. -Kevin

In the later stages of developing a new app and was just told that my version, probably over 3 years old has expired. I had no idea that this was a possibility and it raises questions. 1. I stuck with this version because you (Markus) had offerred a couple of new commands... something like showkeyboard and hidekeyboard. I noticed that the manual was never updated with these commands, so I assumed they were unique to the version you told me to upload, and so I have stuck with it. So is that the case?...

Thought I'd correct a couple of typos and provide the snippet of code that is causing my problems. Typo #1: "I had to rest my phone" = I had to restart my phone. Typo #2: "Tow questions if I may" = Two questions if I may Here is the code segment: button_wait: MOUSEEVENT locx% locx%=mousex locy%=mousey 'check each box FOR x%=1 to nbtns% gosub checkbox(bx%(x%),by%(x%),bx%(x%)+100,by%(x%)+50) IF inbox%=1 pause .2 a$=TIME$ d$=DATE$ hr$=LEFT$(a$,2) mn$=MID$(a$,4,2) a$=hr$+":"+mn$ text bx%(x%)+10,by%(x%)+95,a$...

I continue to have problems with my Android phone when attempting to output data to a file. The problems can be locking up, showing the internal storage to be empty, displaying apps not selected, etc. , and sometimes can take several restarts to correct. I've alluded to it in a previous post mentioning that I had to rest my phone. Tow questions if I may...1) and I don't think this would explain my test file results, but in outputting to a file, is it necessary that all records be the same length?...

  • Kevin Kevin posted a comment on discussion Help

Both the test and the in-work DAT files showed up last night. I know I had had some problems, and had to shut down my phone and re-power... maybe that's an explanation, not sure. But nice to know that I now have access to the file from outside X-11. Thanks again!

  • Kevin Kevin posted a comment on discussion Help

Good catches! Thanks much! The test file now works, but I still cannot find that file on my phone, but it must be there somewhere.

Seems I'm having the same problem. After many tries, and some permutations, I cannot find a data file on my phone. I also cannot apparently read back data that I supposedly wrote. Here is an excerpt of my code dealing with this: OPEN "O",#1,"spl.dat" PRINT #1,"ABCD" PRINT #1,"EFGH" PRINT #1,"IJKL" PRINT #1,"MNOP" PRINT #1,"0" CLOSE #1 PAUSE 1 ' x%=50 y%=1350 OPEN "I",#1,"spl.dat" more: INPUT #1,A$ IF A$="0" goto done ENDIF text x%,y%,A$ Y%=Y%=50 goto more ' done: showpage CLOSE #1 PAUSE 5 QUIT So...

Have been very happy with it! Cheers! What I would like to know is if what I read several years ago is totally true, and that is there is no way to delete all the sample programs that came with it. Realistically, they are of no use to me, and most being in German, I cannot even understand. My phone does not have much memory, and I'd really like to clear up some in order to add some. Thank you for your response.
