It's an "ansome" (as we say in Cornwall) little gem. Yes, I agree about the installer thing, but I think that's a Debian problem not a peppermint one. It has always been a little glitchy. The fact you have installed Peppermint on your Sons computer means you are becoming a real peppermint family :) I hope he is enjoying it too. I can't...
