Is it possble to select vertices based upon whether they fall inside (or outside) a separate watertight mesh? (Similar to CSG intersection, but with just vertices.)
I managed it in the end. Looks like the surface was too close to planar, and the reconstructor didnt know which way to complete it. I ended up laboriously building a point cloud box around it by using the grid generator. Then it recognised the scanned pouint cloud as a face of the box. Any hints about how to achieve this more simply would be appreciated.
Im new to meshlab and 3D work. I have a mesh acquired from a single point cloud, which is concave. Eg it could be the front side of a human face, with no holes in the mesh, but no back side. I would like to close the mesh by intersecting it with a plane. I guess you could think of it as a mesh with one enormous hole? I have tried CSG but this seems to require that both meshes are already closed shells. Looked at 'compute planar section' but there is no option there either.
