I have the same problem with OpenJDK 15 on openSUSE Tumbleweed. The problem seems to stem from Issue 101 in xstream. Yes I did. The problem does not occur when Enigmail is enabled but the message is not signed, nor when Enigmail is disabled.
OK. This also makes it difficult to view messages when Thunderbird is started in safe mode. If TB 60 solves the problem then that's good enough for me (since running in safe mode or uninstalling Enigmail are fairly rare occurrences).
