  • Christos Christos modified a comment on discussion Open Discussion

cost rising is significant since last year !!!! btw "testing hardware cnano ? whats this ? imho "application certificate" can be removed, i see other small companies/shareware who removed it , as its a ripoff, and only help in a warning of opening app !!! allow it and proceed ... so XOJO goes from 99 to 499 /year... nice pricing guys ;)

as above said all stc8 have build in bootloader fixed from factory and non removable you not nothing more than a serial TTL adaptor, the ONLY advantage of their own serial adaptor is that powercycle during programing, otherwise you must manually power off/on device to enter bootloader mode as for toolchain both alexander and i use ONLY basic, we used bascom, bascom has a free 4kb limited version but does NOT export asm , if that your point however if you are looking for asm output i may suggest mikrobasic...

not only you coulnt compile it, but you could also UNABLE to find a rp2040 / 2350 in 20 years so all of these projects will be dead :) microchip has a lot of bad points but also some good points aka one the longest running production of chips among all competitors... you can still get 16f84 a 32year old mcu to build these old projects :) also the posibility to evolve gcb to another mcu core, this one must taken in account (which in sort meand 8051 to my mind :))

if market share / availability of tools / and DEFINITELLY price are the factors then 8051 beats z80 in every aspect 8051 have million of tools, tens (hundrends) of ACTIVE manufacturers, and most chinese manufacture beat price/availabity to the "nail" like the suggested STC.. offcourse ARM is the hte most trend now, but i understand its a complete different 32/64bit beast starting support from the "bare industry standar" AT89S2051/89S52 is not a bad idea in order to get help from microchip :) but...

Recently i found WizFi360, from Wiznet. https://www.wiznet.io/product-item/wizfi360/ it is very similar to ESP8266 in shape - firmware - cost as said "searching too long to find something to fit our need simple and cheap" Wink I have come across to use the ESP8266 many times, but the overloaded information lack (until recently) to proper english documentation from manufacturer etc, i had confused. 328 dont drop at 3.3 3.3 is stable you can use external oscillator to be sure of frequency, but better create an output that flash per second you will understand if you wrong frequency at significant values i.e. accidedantly selct 1mhz instead of 8,, oscilloscope is even beter offcourse

pic's are good too ;-) programmings in pics goes to PGC/PGD pin (along with reset and gnd offcourse) both pk2 nad 3 supports the main diffirence most people have who used to useAVR and try pic's its the extended use of configuration fuses/ for almost anythink for example in most chips you have to select pins to be digital and yes this is not a universal selected constant.. its diffirent and diffirent behaviur in each chip

no experience with nano, but "nano" are actually mega328 isn't ? so . adc has 2 input source referencess in mega328 , a) avcc which almost by definition you connect to power supply so avcc = vcc = 3.3 in your case b) internal reference 1.1 where "255 = 1.1volt" so in general answer is yes

my suggestion to all comunity is based in the fact that most people also, like me, found this forum difficult to use. if the majority of hte community feels ok with this forum, my suggestion has no point at all. move to new forums is like stop posting here (lock if possible) and change urls in site. anyone (new) who wants to find a forum obvioulsy it will first look in site for link. we can also investigate if it is possible to move current data, which will be the ideal solution.

to my understing a "proper" forum like phpBB is better sourceforge is completely diffirent and "basic" and will remain basic since forum is an "add on" to something else (sf = code host/help /colaborate) moving can have may ways, like leaving posts here as is, and continue in a new home if majority agrees/wants to move its the first step, then we will look the rest

if var2 true Then does not compile for any avr if var2=true then if var2=1 then etc do not execute inside tiny9 for a reason if PORTB.1 then it DOES execute, so i guess can not compare variables
