Hello Campbell, Sorry to jump into this discussion but it looks like I'm having the same sort of issue when trying to set smtp. Reason is the smtp server from my provider (Ionos) is known to be blacklisted almost everywhere, so I wanted to use of my "secured" smtp's. Turns out that setting $mail_settings['debug'] = true;displays a nice output telling me that the message has been sent. Testing it with my own email address as recipient, I then get a returning error message stating that either SPF or...

Hello again, Tried it and it's definitely working ok with 8.0 and 8.1 whic I also tested for. What should then be the process? Should I just wait for a new official release or can I safely upgrade the system with this version? Thx Philippe

Hello Campbell, I understand your point which makes a lot of sense, even to me. However, the person in charge of the overall supervision of all rooms told me a few times that it's good to be able to see at a glance if some rooms are closed down (especially by the muni as we use some of their rooms/gymnasiums) which also makes sense, at least to her :-). This is why, before version 1.9, I had been able to add an "Override" checkbox in edit_entry.php which I could check to define if I had to ignore...

Hi Campbell, Thanks for shedding some light on my mistakes. Will try to fix the issue by setting the config auth scheme to ‘db’. Don’t worry about the delete issue…As I said earlier, wiping out the install an re-uploading a fresh 1.7.1 fixed it so no idea what happened there. Coz I defined them all as below: $mail_settings['username'] = 'email_address'; Maybe that wasn’t what had to be done was it? As a matter of fact, I decided to zap the 1.7.3 instance and revert it back to 1.7.1 on the live site: everything’s now fine and even the Access Denied on booking delete is gone… Maybe a quirk from one of the multiple upgrades I made along the years? (I went all the way from 1.4 to 1.7.1…) I have another 1.7.3 instance ready to work if you want me to investigate anything special…Just...

Hmmm…It’s not set but it’s never been…And 1.7.1 was working like a charm. Not using any fancy features.
