see Topic: HOWTO install Jamulus as a "headless" server on Ubuntu 18.04 Volker Fischer - 2020-05-09 The default timer update is 2.66 ms (128 samples at 48 kHz). If you use --fastupdate, the timer update is set to 1.33 ms (64 samples at 48 kHz). This is to reduce the overall delay for clients which support the "Enable Small Network Buffers" and run with 64 samples sound card buffer delay or shorter. But even with the --fastupdate enabled, your server is still compatible to old Jamulus client versions....
After reading https://github.com/corrados/jamulus/wiki/Tips,-Tricks-&-More 'Using the --ctrlmidich MIDI controller channel option' I suspect that this parameter does not work for Windows users because there is no Jamulus MIDI in port. Are you planning to support Windows here as well?
Maybe an overkill for the application, but I had the following idea: I like to play in public sessions with randoms. Since I am not a professional musician, I sometimes have problems recognizing the chords of the played track and unfortunately cannot play along. The display of a chord calculated by an algorithm (individually selectable musician) would be awesome. The UI could look like in the attached picture. RTC as a radio button, since it only makes sense if its selected for a single musician....
