I've been using the AdvanceCOMP utilities for over a decade, and they're great! My thanks to the developers! I know this is well outside MAME interests, but I've wondered if anyone has considered extending advdef to work on flate-compressed sections of PDFs. I'm no programmer, but 13 years ago just using a hex editor I was able to snip clearly-marked deflated image sections out of PDFs and enflate them by piping through some terminal command.
