Hi Alex: From my immediate previous posting, it seems your "image_nonrle.pcx" is not a good one. I've therefore re-saved your "image_nonrle.png" to a new pcx file named "image_nonrle_2.pcx". This "image_nonrle_2.pcx" is in the attached ZIP file "image_nonrle_2.ZIP" Note: It seems to me that FreeImage (v3.16) cannot correctly handle PCX when it is not a compressed one. if I use my own code of PCX class, I get the image per "image_nonrle_2.jpg" shown below, which resembles the image of "image_nonrle.png"....

Hi Alex: I found your "image-nonrle.pcx" rather funny. The file header has the following info: 428 x 430 pixels. BitsPerPlane = 8, Planes = 1, Uncompressed. (1) If I use FreeImage (v 3.16) to load it, I got an image as that of "image_nonrle.png" (see the "image-nonrle.jpg" displayed in the previous posting). This echos what you had said "PCX files have been saved from PNG". (2) However, if I use my own code of PCX class (without involvement of any 3rd party plugin for PCX), I get the image shown...

Hi Alex: I got 4 graphic files from your ZIP, 2 PNG and 2 PCX. You said that PCX files have been saved from PNG by XnView. Now before I look into your PCX files, would you please clarify that your "image-nonrle.png" has indeed only the top half painted with colors (about 428 x 216); the bottom half is entirely of blank white only (about 428 x 214). To facilitate our talk (e.g. other readers can readily see the said image), I've uploaded herewith the above said image in JPG format. The header of the...
