Using data from file as label

I am trying to get the result of a call function back to the calling script. I can get the search variable into the call script with call 'test.dat' ARG1 = 'GQD' and it gets the result OK. How do I get the result back to the calling script? Peter

I am trying to get the parameter -a10 form the second line of this txt file to insert on a plot.
