Aha I know! I am definitely 100% clicking NEW. Tried it several times in different folders/subfolders and it does the same. Will be turning off controlled access as suggested above and see if that works.

When trying to make a new database, [file > new] I click to the location I want to to be stored and it errors: LOCATION File not found Check the filename and try again It's a brand new install so I don't know what it's looking for? EDIT: for clarity, it does not prompt me to make a password
