Hi, I have a Zorin (16.2 ubuntu20.04) on a 500GB drive with Win 10 and Linux Mint. I mainbky use Zorin and that's what I want to take to another drive. I have a 2TB Windows drive with 500GB of image files on it. If I make a 1TB partition on this drive can I clone the Zorin partition to it so that it becomes bootable in another box. If not what is the best way for me to go about getting Ziorin to a new box on that 2TB drive.

Hi, Thanks for replying. I meant when I used HDDSentinel to check the finished clone, it said the drive was perfect whereas as the source drive had bad sectors and was at 9% health. I wanted to know if it was CZ which did the successful clone as TI had failed, but I tried it again after CZ also said there were bad sectors. It wasn't until I had tried them both that I tried to boot and it worked for the first time. I am sure it was CZ but would like proof. It's OK, main thing is I got my drive ba...

I took the drive I was trying to clone to out and set it up in bios as the boot, not expecting anything to happen as both CZ and TI had said bad sectors and no go. To my surprise it booted but closed then opened again with Win logo on black screen and fixing the other partition on the cloned disk that Win was not on. In a few minutes it rebooted and the whole o/s is now back. I cannot believe it ! 5 days of messing around and confusion and now I have the o/s on to a new drive that HD Sentinel say...

Well I bit the bullet and tried in a Dell T7500 workstation Disk to Disk (no running Win 10 os. It said there were errors on the disk and maybe it won't work but to try --rescue option. I said okay and now it is back running again. Not sure what that means? Is it continuing with the clone or trying to fix the bad sectors on the source disk. The source disk in Win 10 os and does work when I use it to boot but it is only 5% according to HDSentinel so could crash anytime. I figure if the os works as...

Hi, I have a Dell T7500 and the C Drive Win 10 x64 Pro drive is about to crash according to HDSentinel. I have tried to Clone with True Image but failed and then with a BackUp which it did, but the copy still does not boot when I place it back in the machine. My guess is it didn't bring over the bad sectors with True Image although I chose Sector by sector. Will I have a better hope of cloning so it does boot with CloneZilla. Thanks oz

I have found some programs that say they can do this. It seems like all of them belong to the same company. maybe the same program under different names. They offer a demo that shows the first 3 digits of the password. I have had it running for 3 hours and still no joy however I will let it run for days if I have to to see if it helps. If you try it, let us know if it works. EDIT: IT has now run about 20 hours and checked 421852 passwords.

Hi, Like many across the world we have had all our files on the QNAP NAS encrypted with a 7z and have to pay Bitcoin to get a password to open them. It seems some have paid and the password doesn't work even. What happens when one cannot normally get into a 7z file because they have forgotten their password etc? Surely there has to be a way 7z knows how to bypass the pwd need. Any help on this please?

Yes I am sorry but I have used that syntax. I just had a doh moment. When I am out of my LAN and enter my IP, I get the Apache default page which is I think is correct, but when I enter the :10000 after it, the 10000 goes gray then after a while it times out. When I enter the https:// in front of the IP I get the NAS login screen but when I add the :10000 it also goes Gray and then times out. Yes I have All allowed. I'm sorry but I am so confused. Thank you for your help.

Hi, Hi have an apache 2 webserver on Linux Zorin 15 (ubunu 18.04) and now have Webmin installed. It is good to access via the localhost in the LAN but I want to access from away via the net. How do I do this please? Do I have to set anything up in the apache virtual host .conf files or anywhere else. I have allowed all sites in the Webmin config area but when trying xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/10000 or :10000 I get a 'Not found'. Thanks

Hi, Have just set up an apache2 Linux webserver with a few domain virtual host sites and would like an admin set up. I am used to WHM and Cpanel on shared servers. Used to Windows but slowly getting used to Linux. Can this work with Zorin 15 Ubuntu 18.04 and is it hard to set up. Thanks oz
