Thanks, I'll give it a whirl and post if it causes problems too.
Holy crap, that was it. I had a codec pack installed (Shark 007) and once I installed it FaceAPI started working. Thank you! Dammit. Now I have to find a different codec pack that doesn't interfere with this program...
I did manage to track down 1.7 and install it after uninstalling 2.0, but again I got the same problems, all the same errors and freezes. I have no idea what's going on.
The first screenshot was to show that the PSEye webcam is recognized by the computer and works properly using the CL-Eye Test application. FaceTrackNoIR was open but not active at the time. I have two webcams but I only have one plugged in at a time, I'm aware of the headaches using multiple cams simultaneously can cause. The other webcam is a Logitech C920, and I had identical problems with that one as with the PSEye using this app, even after I uninstalled the "official" Logitech software and let...
Yes, I'm pressing the right start button, you can see it's greyed out on the screenshots I posted earlier. :) I WAS using this program a fair bit years ago, just when it bumped up from 1.6 to 1.7. Tinkered with curves and everything. I'm using mostly the same hardware back then and even the same PSEye, although I think I've reinstalled Win7 since then.

I uninstalled everything (including Vjoy, just in case), and deleted the remaining directory. Rebooted my computer and installed the program and the v2.01 plugin pack, but still no change. I noticed I can click on "webcam utility" but nothing happens. And it's GOT to be relevant somehow that only PointTracker actually gets any input from the webcam but nothing else does.
No change I'm afraid. Incidentally, to whoever's managing the SourceForge page: the front page is still pointing to v2.00 of the PluginPack, not v2.01. You have to click on "browse all files" to get to the new one. Seeing that there are 1000+ downloads of v2.00 and only 50 of the new one, that could potentially solve a lot of other people's problems (just not mine).
Trying it on faceAPI looks exactly the same as if selecting FaceTrackNoIR UDP, all zeroes and nothing in the camera widget except the last image that was there if I tried something else first. Like if I used PointTracker, stopped it, then started faceAPI, it would show a still of the last image received from PointTracker. If I used FaceTrackNoIR, it shows the UDP image. Usually after the fourth attempt the whole application crashes.
Well, thanks anyway.
cough
Any suggestions?
I've attached 3 images, the first shows the CLEye test program working fine (artifacting in the image is because I compressed the JPG), the second one shows PointTracker also working, the third is the result of starting FaceTrackNoIR UDP. Rob Catley, are you referring to Windows 7 or 10? I hope it's not the case for 7 because a couple weeks ago I noticed it was stuck on 0% when trying to download any updates, and actually heating up the CPU in the meantime. I checked around the net and nothing fixed...
Anyone have any ideas? I like this app so much I've paid for it twice now; back on initial release of 1.7 and again now. It worked flawlessly the first time I used it, now that I've reinstalled it I can't get it to start face tracking at all. I'm using the same computer as I was then, and even dug out the same PS3 Eye I used to use. I've done all the standard trouble-shooting, scoured this forum for anything to try but without luck. I'd appreciate any suggestions or help anyone's willing to provide...

Well it's definitely not the webcam, I replaced it with my old PS3 Eye and got the same results. To reiterate, only PointTracker works as a tracker source, unfortunately that doesn't help me as I need a FACE tracker. Tobii EyeX, FaceAPI and the rest give nothing but zeroes as values when I hit "start", and if I check the "settings" button after hitting "start" the reported engine status is "terminated", "unknown", or "waiting".

I've read as many posts as I could but didn't find an issue like mine. I'm running W7 64bit, and my webcam is a Logitech C920. I have installed the Plugin Pack. When I run the program it does say "HD Pro Logitech 920" above Profile, so it's recognizing the webcam. Also, selecting PointTracker as a tracking source does show visuals in the video widget. However, selecting FaceTrackNoIR UDP gets only the UDP logo in the video widget, and FaceAPI 3.2.6 makes the camera's light turn on briefly, but no...
