    Thanks Thomas, it helps a lot. The axis of a wall is a plane (finite) if I understand well, is that corret ? If so, I guess I should be able to extract the thickness of the wall (from the body and the normal vector from the axis). I thought that the connection between the shell element would be a problem but if you say that it's managable, it's good to hear. To be more specific about what I'm trying to achieve, I use Code_Aster (which is an open-source code) to carry out finite element calculations...

    Hi, I just discovered this tool which I think is very interesting and might do the trick for what I was planning to achieve. So firs of all, great job ! What I'm trying to achieve is to be able to construct a geometry composed of shell elements (planar faces without thickness) instead of 3D elements , from an IFC file.
