'/' in os name leads to compile fail

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. Not sure what nmon_numa.c is about! Perhaps some experimental code. A similar fix for the strange OS Name that Debian uses is in the Makefile for nmon16t released about a week ago. The OS Name for a distro does not need a "GNU" a "/" or a "Linux" in it. Just one of the many quirks in Linux, I guess.

Wider wide CPU output

While I like the idea of this patch it is a lot of code. I decided to tackle this another way. The current 80 column format was extended to four graphs = 256 CPU cores. I wanted to avoid the wide wide format - very few people use it except for top processes. I have reworked the Operating System name on the Welcome screen (and elsewhere like the resoures view) to use just /etc/os-release and its PRETTY_NAME line. This removed roughly 50 ines of code. It seems the various Distros are more consistent these days but the order of lines in the file are not consistent. I note the os-release file you sent is "Arch Linux" but there is no version. Apparently, the Arch Linux uses a rolling release with updates, so no version number. I am not clear hos the sysadmin...

The "welcome" (you called this above the welcome view) screen is the first think that nmon displays as it starts up.

Looking into this more. Some of the welcome info is from /etc/*ease *easecatches the filenames ending Release or release. Can you send a copy? Also can you take a snapshot of the Welcome screen so I know exactly what needs fixing. Cheers Nigel
