Just pushed out the latest 128 release. Cheers!
It looks like the latest point releases are now enabled for auto updates. I will review the various thunderbird support forums to see if there are any major issues and if not will package it up into the repo. For now it is on the latest 115 branch, 115.15.0, which was released on Sep 5.
Hi! Generally I wait until they enable automatic upgrades from previous version to the next one, so most of the bugs are ironed out. For now the release notes here https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/128.0.1esr/releasenotes/ say that automatic upgrades are not yet available.
Hi! Thanks for the heads up! Had a little bug in my "there is an update" notifier script so it didn't think version x.11 was bigger than version x.9 :) I have pushed out all the latest updates just now!
SeaMonkey 2.53.18.2 released on March 28, 2024
Hello, thank you for the heads up. Just pushed out the update!
Hi Pieter, That appears to have been a drive-by spam with a sneaky link to some shady website, so I just deleted it. Unfortunately it appears that forum threads cannot be closed/locked on sourceforge, unlike bug report tickets. Cheers!
adjust for seamonkey moving off to a different releases server.
SeaMonkey 2.53.18.1 released
Hi, Sorry it took a little longer than I anticipated, seamonkey project changed their host server, so I had to find the time to make updates to the packaging script. The update should now be up in the repository. Cheers!
Hello, thanks for the heads up! Yes, I will try to get it out later today!
StartupWMClass in /usr/share/applications/firefox-mozilla-build.desktop is wrong so app behaves incorrectly in dock
Great, thank you for the report and the feedback!
Hi Pieter, Recently got this bug report which may fix your issue. https://sourceforge.net/p/ubuntuzilla/bugs/51/ The fix is deployed in the latest .debs in the repository.
StartupWMClass in /usr/share/applications/firefox-mozilla-build.desktop is wrong so app behaves incorrectly in dock
Hi, Thank you for your detailed report! Did not realize this has become case sensitive at some point. I have fixed it in the most recent release .debs. Please try and let me know if you still experience issues.
make StartupWMClass lower case for firefox and thunderbird, since apparently it makes a difference to Gnome/Wayland now.
some update on the server side made w3m fail with 'upgrade required' http error, so using curl to get the data first
remove iceweasel from provides because of some weird conflict
update for python3
update checksum file retrieval for seamonkey
update seamonkey release version parser.
seamonkey now places x64 binaries in the usual place, so taking out the special contrib source
add mode to only output latest detected version.
merged in some master changes that fix firefox version retrieval.
fix and simplify package name retrieval, which started failing for seamonkeyi686
update firefox version retriever because mozilla changed their site layout and now just uses 302 redirects...
some work in progress making firefox esr packages
Hi! Sorry it took me a bit to get to this. It appears you have installed a 'firefox-esr' package from the debian repositories (not the ubuntuzilla repositories), which maybe does some conflicting divert? I think if you uninstall package 'firefox-esr', and then install 'firefox-mozilla-build' it will solve the issue. if you want also firefox-esr, there is 'firefox-esr-mozilla-build' that will work and not conflict with 'firefox-mozilla-build'.
Hi Pieter, Appreciate your report! Unfortunately I don't use the official ubuntu UI for many years now, I use Xubuntu, so I am not really familiar with the details of where today's UI looks for icon files for the open window list and why that is different from the application list/favorites. The Xubuntu (XFCE) interface doesn't seem to have an issue displaying the right icon in the window list. If you manage do figure out what icon file is missing to make it work, let me know and we can test it out!...

Glad this is helpful to folks out there!
I guess the sourceforge forums are the place now. Welcome :) I suppose I should update the docs here.
Thunderbird deb packages missing in apt repo
Thunderbird deb packages missing in apt repo
Hello, I was holding it back due to the number of issues I saw people having shortly after they switched to the 102 branch. It seems most things have been ironed out, so I have updated the repository to the latest thunderbird release, 102.8.0. Please let know if you run into any issues!

Ubuntu 18 qcow2
Hi, It appears you're in the wrong project, this project has nothing to do with qemu...
Hi, That error is not about the gpg repository signing key, but about the SSL server key on one of the sourceforge file hosting mirrors. that is out of my control, just try again until you get a different mirror.
SeaMonkey 2.53.9.1 released
thank you for the ping, it is done. :)
SeaMonkey 2.53.7 released
Got it, thank you! It is already pushed out to the repository. :)
SeaMonkey 2.53.6 released
Thank you, updated the repository. :)
Hi Dirk, Well, seamonkey just came out with new release. I took out the iceweasel dependency, so hopefully at least that issue is solved. I don't know that I can do anything about your download problems - I have not been able to replicate any issues on my end. Cheers, Daniel
Hi, thank you for the bug report. For issues with SF ticket system, please report on the main SF tracker. This is just one of the thousands of random projects that's hosted on SF. This is the main SF tracker: https://sourceforge.net/p/forge/site-support/new/ Regarding the issues you report: seems to be a transient mirror propagation problem - just tried grabbing package with apt and had no problems. Try again? I added iceweasel and the rest of the 'provides' list by just copying out of the firefox...
SeaMonkey 2.53.2 released
Updated the repository. Thank you :)
hi, the ubuntuzilla project only repackages official builds from the mozilla projects. it does not seem that they release any arm builds at the moment, so you'd have to look elsewhere, or build it yourself.
SeaMonkey 2.53.1 released
Done, thank you for the reminder. :)
apt-key command fails to complete
Odd indeed, perhaps some intermittent issue with the keyserver or something. Glad it's working now, thanks for circling back to confirm! :)
Hi Michael, Perhaps let's try it in two steps. grab key from keyserver: gpg --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com 0xB7B9C16F2667CA5C export it and pipe to apt-key: gpg --export 0xB7B9C16F2667CA5C | sudo apt-key add - And see if that works! Best, nanotube
no Release file?
seamonkey 2.49.5 was just released
pushed it out, thank you for the notice:)
Interim SeaMonkey builds
Pushed out 2.49.5, thank you for the notice :)
Hi, Sorry for late reply... I don't think i'll bother dealing with unofficial builds, since the whole point of this project is to provide official builds. it appears seamonkey has been having some issues with timely releases for quite some time now, perhaps you'd do better to switch to firefox ESR (which is available from this repository also). Regards, nanotube
SeaMonkey 2.49.4 released
Thank you, pushed out the update. :)
sourceforge is currently having some issues, see here: https://twitter.com/sfnet_ops says they are back online as of a few hours ago, but i'm getting the same error you are, some of their stuff must still be off. and i still don't have access to upload the repo, i wanted to try reuploading and it failed with some permissions errors... i'll keep an eye on it over the next day or so... hopefully things will get back to normal.
it's in there now :)
SeaMonkey 2.49.2 released
When are you getting this? I am on xenial and have no such problem either with update or install...
ETA Seamonkey 2.48?
SeaMonkey 2.49.2 released
thank you for the heads-up! i will upload the update to the repository as soon as sourceforge restores access to file release system... :)

hey, see email :). are the ppa .debs any different? if not, you can just copy stuff out of the ubuntuzilla repo into wherever you want?
Done again, thanks! :)
Done, thanks for the poke :)
No worries, please feel free to bug me if you notice a couple days have passed and I haven't pushed out the update yet! :)
Done, thanks for the ping!
ETA Seamonkey 2.48?
It is done, thanks for the ping! It's been so long since the last release, I kinda stopped checking up on it. :)
