Hi, the "square" issue is solved. Thanks for that! However the programm is now still crashing again after a few clicks in the tree structure. That's been a bug you already fixed in the second last build, where you took care of a better ALSA support. May I ask for another "final" version, addressing this issue? I'm fine with the .tsl/.syx support, as I found a way around it. You just might keep it on the back log, as it will make other users happy.

Just noticed, that the squares aren't visible in the Windows version. So it appears to be Linux specific.

  • My ForgeName My ForgeName modified a comment on discussion Help

Downloaded and tested. Unfortunately the squares are still there. I attached a screenshot, so you can see what it looks like. Bad news is, that the programm is also crashing again :-) Plus I also noticed, that .syx files can't be loaded. Same is true for .tsl files that BTS saves. As a workaround I loaded these files in BTS, wrote them to the ME-25, opened ME-25-Edit and saved it as .m2l. P.S.: Happy to do the testing for you.

Hi and thanks for the new build. It appears to be working flawlessly. One more thing to ask for. The spaces in the patch names on the list to the left and the field on top are replaces by rectangles, which makes it hard to read them. Maybe you will find the time to fix this as well, if your son gives you a minute on your computer? :-) And I would like to thank you for your ongoing support for your software, even on older equipment. A fresh cup of coffee is beeing send your way. By the way. I noticed...

Hi, since today, I’m a happy owner of a used BOSS ME-25 effects board. Loving my FxFloorBoard for Katana, first thing I did was downloading the latest ME-25_Edit Linux 64 bit version 20190710. I’m on the latest Ubuntu Studio version here. Firing up “./ME-25-Edit” , I set “Midi in and out” to “ME-5 28:0” and get a connect. Everything works fine, but quite frequently the program crashes with this error message: ALSA lib seq_hw.c:466:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: Cannot allocate memory...

Hi, thanks for the 23-12-19 update for MK 1 on Linux. I did a quick test of the loader function and here are my findings: No import of tsl bundle files possible No export of syx bundle files possible Overwriting patch from channel A1 to loader position 5, actually writes the name to channel B1. Alas the sound of channel B1 is still the one of the old patch. Thanks for your reply. I had the chance, to test the writing patch data with the Windows version and it seems to work there. Appears, that the bug is only present in the Linux version. Just my luck :-) When you're working on the "loader" anyway, you might check another possible issue with the patch names. Haven't thoroughly tested it, but I noticed, that some of my patch names are truncated. Patiently awaiting a new version ;-)

Hi gumtown, TL;DR: I just noticed, that I went down the testing rabbit hole. To put things short, the whole new loader/writing mechanism seems to be broken. Not sure, if this also affects any other versions (Windows, Mac, Katana MK II, etc.). As this is such a basic feature, it suggest, this issue should be addressed. Following is my initial write up. regards Sorry for bothering you about this issue again. I’m well aware, that you are working on more current models with a much bigger group of people...

Hi, thanks for the link to the beta. On 28 Sept 2022 you mentioned, that you found the channel switching bug and fixed it. Unfortunately the behavior is still the same, as before. Midi settings in FloorBoard are: Panel: 09 (as I don't want to use it) Channel A1: 01 Channel A2: 02 Channel B1: 03 Channel B2: 04 When hitting the buttons on my foot switch, the info field in FloorBoard is showing the patch change info and switches to the channel as shown below: patch change #0 -> Panel patch change #1...

Hi, I got myself a dedicated PC to run my music related programs on. Checking processes with the “top” command, I noticed that FxFloorBoard version 20220923 for MK1 - Firmware 4 is using 65% of the CPU (4 Core AMD A8-6410 APU with integrated graphic). PC is running Ubuntu Studio 22.04 with KDE Plasma version 2.0 QT version 5.15.3. Even on my regular, more powerful Ubuntu PC (IntelCore i5-10400 CPU) FxFloorBoard still is on top of the “top” list, using 15% CPU. I understand, that the position in the...

Hi, apologies for my delay in writing. Life got in the way. On 26 September you wrote, that you uploaded a new version (20220927) for the MK1. Unfortunately I can only find the 20220922 version for Linux in the files section. Could you please point me to the correct location? Thanks.

Hi, I'm testing the latest Linux pre-release 20230201. Not an issue, but a new behaviour. Opening FFB for the first time, no Katana model is selected, as usual. Hitting the "Settings" button to select the correct amp leads to an unexpected restart of FFB and then the correct amp is already selected and the patches are shown. Nice! Found the MIDI patch loader option and activated it. Then the "Patch loader bundle file" import function is shown in the file menu. Why not keep it pre-select, as it was...

Hi, thanks for the new Linux Beta 20230131 for Katana 50 MK 1. Here are my findings so far: Saving a patch on channels B1 and B2 via the Katana still crashes FFB Missing Bluetooth dongle still leads to delayed start. In another ticket I wrote, it seems to be fixed, but maybe I didn't reboot my PC after removing the dongle and it was still remembered by the OS. The patch bulk import feature/Loader list seems to be gone. Trying to add an imported patch to the Loader, using the Write/Sync button, leads...

Apologies for my late reply. Yes, I'm on a Kat 50 MK 1. As you suggested, I tried it with the preference settings set to "Katana 100 12" and it worked. FYI, with the "Katana 100 12" setting, the patches for channels B1 and B2 were also shown as channels A3 and A4, which I didn't try to save to. I can live with this workaround for the moment and am looking forward to the new update. regards

Hi, interesting. I just tested it, while preferences were still set to "Katana 100 12" and using the channel button to save worked. Switched back to the "Katana 50" settings and it crashed again. Checked all four channels and channels A1 and A2 don't lead to a crash, whereas channels B1 and B2 do crash. Appears to be connected to the not saving issue in the "Write/Sync broken?" ticket. regards

Hi, writing a patch to the Katana appears not to be working correctly. I select a patch from the loader list. Sound and the graphics in FFB change. I hit the „Write/Sync“ button („Connected“ button is green) and select „Channel B1“ and hit „WRITE TO KATANA“. The name of the patch in the „Katana“ dropdown list changes to the new patch name. Thanks. You actually already told me this in another thread, but I forgot. Must be getting old... Changed the settings in the Midi page, but to no avail. Whatever settings I use, even nonsense ones, the behaviour stays the same. E.g.: button 1 switches to Panel. Will wait for your updated version and try again.

I'm happy to wait. One more request. Any chance to add an entry to the preferences.xml file, so one can determin at which point the channel count starts? The first button on my midi controller sends a "zero", which selects Katana's panel. I much more would like it, to select the first channel. This way I could use all four channels with my four button controller. Thanks.

The name in the left hand panel did change for channel B1, but the settings of the amp and pedals stayed the same as for the previous stored patch. Switching back to the panel, the amp changed from MS1959 I+II to Clean, the Mod pedal was deactivated, but pedal (Wah) and equalizer were still active, with the previous settings.
