Found the below article helps to upgrade HSQL db (example from 1.8 to 2.7.2) It upgrades the db but it has 2 step upgrade 1.8 -> 2.3.0 and then 2.3.0 to 2.7.2) (better to manually compare the schema after upgrade to make sure quality). https://confluence.atlassian.com/crowd/preparing-the-hsql-1-8-x-database-.file-for-automatic-upgrade-1295681887.html

But same issue exists for jtrac-2.3.1.zip also. It would be helpful if you suggest migration steps for HSQLDB2.
