Hello, Thank you so much for the tip about "i.e. moving the mouse with the middle button pressed, you can pan the view" .... this is a button that I never use. I only use the mouse wheel for scrolling and Ctrl + mouse wheel for zoom in/out like in many applications. About the scroll bar is it normal that there is no scroll bar or is it related to the desktop I am using because I know some applictions sometimes needed a modified CSS for displaying hidden UI settings when possible. Hello, My apologizes for the delay. I made many tests with different version of gscan2pdf with Ubuntu and Debian (without changing drivers version). I disabled "Cache device list" option in Preferences, Scan Options tab and now I have this dialogue box which ask me what to do. This is perfect. Now I can use one scanner even if the other scanner is powered off. Now starting a scan will automatically up from idle state a scanner which was in idle state. This never worked before with "Cache device list"...

Hello, I trying to use an LCD from an old Netscaler 7000. References which are available on it : AMC1602AR-B-B12WTDW-SP03-S2 06256001018 The brand seems to be a OrientLCD AMC1602AR_B_B6WTDW Controller seems to be a S6A0069 and I have found on an LCDproc mailing list that it seems to be a hd44780 compatible device. It is a com2 device which is using 0x2F8. I configured the LCDd.conf to use the hd44780 drivers and made many tests, tested many ConnectionType or CharMap .... LCD is working but I only...

Hello Jeffrey, Excuse me because I was traveling for business reasons and I did not take the scanner with me :) I have installed and tested this evening very quickly the 2.18.RC2 because I had some scan to do. Like that, it seems to work well. Scan Options tab is labelled as you said "Scan Options" due to Brother empty name. Scan Options are well here and I just use the "auto detect document size" yet. I successfully saved my scan as pdf. I made this test on my travel companion with Ubuntu 17.10...

Hello, Wow so quick ... :) I'm ready ! I prefer a deb because my VM with all build tools and libs are old (Xenial) and I need to take time to reinstall an 18.04 with all required tools and lib. Hello, Many thanks for your help. I made scanimage tests on the two computers and each time on the computer which has HP and Brother devices I ran the tests on the twice devices. I see that the HP due to it's syntax required to be quoted so I quoted too the Brother. I tried with and without sudo and directly as root # the scanimage test. I don't understand what do you mean with scanimage > image.pnm I have search in all menu and the only thing I found is under preference > scan option > frontend but when I select scanimage or sanadf gscan2pdf is exiting. At relaunch it ask me to open a previous crashed session. Otherwise as the scanner disappears I can not scan anything. Kr,

Hello, I made a new install on a fresh Ubuntu 18.04 install with following components only: gscan2pdf 2.1.7 (from your ppa) xsane Brother ADS-2800W No HP device This is exactly the same error. Hello, Last addition for today :) I have another old stock Linux Mint 18.x (Xenial) on another computer that I would like to update to Ubuntu 18.04 and before and I will try to install brother ADS-2800W and gscan2pdf from your ppa on it this evening. Hello, Addition to my previous message. Even blacklisted HP device remain available and I can scan from it after refreshing devices (step 3). I tried to force gscan2pdf to open the ADS-2800W device using the following command line: gscan2pdf --device=brother5:net1:dev0 --log=log-2.1.7-05.log It seems that device is well discovered but properties can't be loaded. It seems that I succeed to blacklist HP device using the exact model name (shown in gscan2pdf log file) "HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M477fdw" without regular expression because I can read in the log file INFO - Blacklisting device hpaio:/net/HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M477fdw?ip=10.0.0.4 HP device is always listed and retreived after refreshing the device list or restarting gscan2pdf (maybe normal) but if I select the ADS-2800W no settings are retreived and this device...
