Well, now I feel dumb. Control+/ is the built-in backup ability of SCID. I did not know/realize this existed. I definitely would have used it! And I am using it now! One question, are my comments and notations stored in the ".sn4" file? And the pgn (including the original game and the variations) stored in the ".sg4" file?
Thank you for the reply. I was able to rebuild a new database from the games I've played online. What I am missing is all of the comments and variations that I spent time entering. But at least I've got my tree window back! Lesson learned (yet again, ha!) I'll check out (Control+/). This is a great program, and it is truly awesome that you are around to answer questions! Hello. I am on a mac using v4.22, have been for about 6 years now. Today my ".si4" and ".sn4" files were somehow reset (overwritten to be a small subset (~400 games) of my original files). My .sg4 file was moved/copied to "name_2.sg4" and the original file "name.sg4" was overwritten. Is there any way I can create new ".si4" and ".sn4" files to go with my "name_2.sg4" file? My original ".sg4" file (now called "name_2.sg4, and with a filesize of 2.1MB) has over 8,200 games in it, and I am hoping to...
