Rony. I did check that the file was writable and it is and always has been on opening on my laptop unlike on my phone where it is write protected by default. It appears that there is only one entry, so far, that is not. The entry shows as: NAME [USERID] #, first time I've see a # in an entry in the list of entries seen when first opening the safe But when I open it I can't see # anywhere but I can't edit this entry, whereas I can edit others. Does the # have any significance? Why doesn't it show...

Thanks Rony. All worked fine and I'm now running V1.18.2

Oops - Sorry What version of PWS does passwordsafe-ubuntu22-1.18.2-amd64.deb contain? I have V1.13. Will this also work with Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) which as far as I'm aware is the latest LTS version - not Ubuntu 22.3 LTS which I can't find at https://www.releases.ubuntu.com/

Installed gdebi and tried to install using that but got: Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libwxgtk3.2-1 (>=3.2.0) Is it me or is there something wrong?

Downloaded passwordsafe-ubuntu23-1.18.2-amd64.deb Right Click >Open with other application >Software Install Ubuntu Software folder opens but just buffers saying Loading Application Details ... It never completes installation. Have I missed something? Is there anything else I should be doing?

Sorry didn't 'see' the name or understand the naming convention - how thick am I? I'm running Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS. Presumably PWS V1.13 is the latest for my Ubuntu version.

I received an email advising that there was an update for PWS. I downloaded passwordsafe-ubuntu23-1.18.2-amd64.deb Tried to install it but no go. I'm running PWS V1.13 on a Ubuntu laptop, Is this the latest version for Ubuntu?

  • Chris Chris posted a comment on discussion Help

Using PassWordSafe (linux) v1.10 (heads/master-0-g9cadcbea4+) Build date: May 12 2020 21:45:01 Which when I check for updates says is the latest version. I hope it's not a hardware problem as the notebook is only a few months old, which I accept is no guarantee. It may be that Ubuntu is failing in some way and I am confussing the symptom with the cause, however I've not noticed any other problems - yet.

Found I can end PWS via System Monitor, but I shouldn't have to.

I have opened PWS in Ubuntu 20.04, but now the PWS window is grey and I cannot close/exit/quit it, and the PWS window stays on top. Menu options show when I click on the menu items, File, Edit etc, Max/Min works, but the eXit option doesn't, button is grey not Amber and I cannot quit PWS from the sidebar Additionally Ubuntu has crashed a few times when I use PWS. Any suggestions.

Apologies for the length of this, there is a lot of Terminal Copy and Paste. I have used Password Safe for years and it is now embedded in my life. Recently I switched from Windows to Ubuntu on two laptops, one brand new chris@chris-N150CU: the other chris@CandKAcer: older that I use to test things before doing them on what will become my main machine. I had Password Safe (WxWidgets) v1.08.2 (local) BETA working fine on both. I received an email advising of an update, so I followed the link and downloaded...
