@dan-kelly thanks! BTW, I placed the terminal command into a code section. BTW y'all, my alias fix was more of a joke! Hence my laughing at the time. Seriously though, if you ever need to make an alias permanent, edit .bash_aliases and place the command in there.
The new PeppermintOS is still Peppermint. You received some updates that change a config file. Do not use this on Peppermint 10 or earlier release. In the terminal enter: sudo cp /opt/pepconf/os-release /etc/os-release This should restore the Peppermint ID in the system.

Greetings B. Whiffen, PeppermintOS 32bit is being worked on, and like its 64bit sibling it shall be released when tested and ready. We currently do not have a date. Out of curiosity, what is the make and model of your laptop?
Thank you so much for your donation. It really means a lot! The easiest non-monitory way of supporting a distro is to join their forum and jump on in, which you already have! We also have a Matrix Chatroom

Howling Wolf, glad the issue fixed itself, but like you I also would like to know why! I added Solved to the thread Subject. Easy for me as a mod, but unsure if it is the same as a user. Glad to hear you are having fun with PeppermintOS, writing scripts and all.
Howling Wolf, was basically confirming for myself. I currently only have PeppermintOS installed on a laptop, so was unable to test a desktop PC. BTW: It wasn't a suggestion to you. The rm command is what I did for myself. Apologies for the confusion. I know there is a large debate whether to use icons on the Desktop screen or not, and I see both sides. Personally I do like icons on the desktop, but often use shortcuts to actual files, just in case of accidental deletion (which I have done!).
Testing with 10 of the same file type. Before restart: Restarted the Alienware M15x laptop, and the order stayed the same. Added 10 png files and 10 folders: (Starting to look like my workmates screens) Manually selecting "Arrange Desktop Icons" worked fine: (Desktop Settings were 'Top Left Vertical") (Changed Wallpaper for clarity) So, at this point all I can confirm is that the laptop Desktop Icons work as expected between restarts. Currently do not have a spare Desktop PC / Tower to test on. Now...

Oh, already deleted the software. Was merely checking your method.
Tested, and the install instructions worked fine. Thank you.
Instructions work great. Next step though is to install: Microsoft 3D Pinball - Space Cadet and have a blast playing.
The script runs well but currently no updates. Shall try again another day.
Does one size fit all?
To Me, I recommend trying a Live USB of the latest PeppermintOS to see how the machine runs under a leaner OS. If the Live USB works, then install. Peppermint Download Page

Thanks Logan!
Have enjoyed using SourceForge over the years to download and interact with projects. Now that I am part of a project here, I have greater respect. Especially when Logan Abbott @loganabbott President of @SourceForge, @Slashdot, @SlashdotMedia & @Wirefly took the time to interact with me the other day on Twitter.
Sounds great. Looking forward to testing it one day. For my non-systemd fix I use PCLinuxOS.
Thanks @cavy I installed the settings gui, and now greeted by my Spider-Man in the rain avatar when I start PeppermintOS.
@Lexiticus Trinity is on my PCLinuxOS install. A true challenge would be to install Trinity on Slackware 15.
@Keenow I placed your terminal output into code mode. You highlight your text then click on the symbol just after B I H in the format bar. I see you have a 64bit netbook. My Asus EeePC 1000 is 32bit.

Additional: Linux Saloon is currently testing Slackware, which I have installed on a testing partition and have updated. Still need to learn how to add repos and software. Since DWService is website and agent based I used it for remote access:
Upgraded from Budgie Desktop 10.5 to 10.6 today, but not in Solus. It was in EndeavourOS, an Arch based distro. Mostly style updates, but still looking good. Solus should have their update release this Friday, when it goes from unstable testing to stable. Buddies of Budgie github site
Ahhh.... that explains what the square brackets are for. I know next to nothing about MarkDown. Looks like I need to learn. @pepdebian thank you for the instruction.

Most Sunday mornings at 9:05am Eastern US our very own @stevesveryown named "The Sunday Linux Coffee Klatch] on his YouTube channel Steve will always mention PeppermintOS, even when reviewing other Linux distros and software. The show also invites viewers to join the discussion on a Zoom video call, as well as from the YouTube text chat. Often he has a weird Scotsman in Kentucky show up! :D

I have used Anydesk. Functionality is quite similar, but I believe DWService to be easier to use. First up, it is web-based. I am able to remote straight to my home Linux machines from my work Windows 10 laptop without installing anything. DWService's agents are open source. https://github.com/AG7GN/dwservice It may come down to personal choice.
Enjoying using DWService.net to access all my machines from anywhere as needed.
Good thoughts @nelson. Yes, the new community area does take getting used to. I'm still learning it's features as I post and reply. The PeppermintOS team stands ready to assist those that have questions or issues. We shall do our best to assist them here as we did in the last home. BTW, I am also a PCLinuxOS user, and official tester. I run the Trinity and Xfce desktops on 2 machines.

Never actually used a Thinkpad but have heard great things about them and Linux together.
Yeah, real beer. Not lite crap. I recommend the Einstok Wee Heavy (Scotch Ale) from Iceland.

Steven, it was from this ISO: clonezilla-live-20170220-yakkety-amd64.iso This seems to be the latest on your website for download, that would work with the Alienware Area51. Have you updated this ISO since April 18th?
Tried having the 3TB drive on as I booted up, which made that drive sda, with C: = sdb and D: = sdc. https://www.dropbox.com/s/w2jadht0xu6dg8x/APC_CZ_3TB-on-first.jpg?dl=0 However, at the /home/partimag selection screen this drive (now sda) could not be seen. Still stuck. Getting lots of views though it seems. With this information, and any more that you may ask for, could you help me put together the correct command line to image the 2 drives in the Windows box?

Greetings all, Been using Clonezilla without issue for many years, but now have an interesting problem: Running Clonezilla Live (Ubuntu version) on my wife's Alienware Area51. Here is a screenshot of the drives: https://www.dropbox.com/s/azk5fy8ytn7rg3s/APC_CZ_Drives.jpg?dl=0 As you can see, sda and sdb are the C: and D: drives, and sdd is the 3TB drive I want to use as /home/partimag sdc of course is not showing, as that is my live USB. However, when I go to select sdd as /home/partimag I get this...
