You select an "Encoding profile" that encodes the .tivo to an .mp4. I use the "hb_tivo_hd_crf" profile, which is Handbrake for a Tivo HD recording, to an MP4 container, constant quality CRF=21, h.264 video, ac3 audio. If I looked deeper, I could probably find the profile settings and the handbrake options to change that to H.265/HEVC video and AAC/MP4a audio. I don't do any other processing (no TS download, no qs-fix, no ad detect or cut, no encoding, etc.) as I use another program (MCEBuddy) to...
