As Jeff said, use Password Safe in Windows to reconcile two files. But I'm leery of usIng the merge operation in case it results in what happened to you. Here's another way, but it can be tedious if you have a lot of entries to deal with: You can start two Password Safe instances, and open one of the two files you want to reconcile in each instance. (If you can't run two instances of PWS, make sure that feature is checked as allowed in the options.) You can drag an entry from one database file to...

Look for "PasswdSafe" and "PasswdSafe Sync" for Android (missing the "or" in "word." -------- Original message --------From: Ulrich Boche boche@users.sourceforge.net Date: 8/27/23 1:27 PM (GMT-07:00) To: "[passwordsafe:discussion]" 134800@discussion.passwordsafe.p.re.sourceforge.net Subject: [passwordsafe:discussion] Where PasswordSafe files are stored on Android On Android, there is also a PasswordSafe Sync app that you can install that synchronizes a PasswordSafe database on Dropbox or OneDrive...

Just my two cents for workaround for a couple of things:1. Rather than using a complete website address for title, doesn't it make sense to use the primary website name? There is a field specifically for the URL. (However, I've had no problem using, let's say Amazon.com in a title. But I don't know about CSV import/export ramifications.)2. For entries containing only some info, I use a period (dot) as password placeholder. (But why wouldn't you have a complete entry for a credit card with bank account...

If you keep the database file on OneDrive and use Password Safe on the PC and PasswdSafe (with companion app PasswdSafe Sync) on Android, it will stay accurately updated no matter which platform is used to edit it. Whenever the database file is open and editable, the platform app will create a temporary file with extension .plk. If the database file is open on both platforms with ongoing edits at the same time, you may have more than one .plk file which will probably trigger creating a separate database...

Glad your manual method of getting the PWS data file from Windows to your Android device using Bluetooth and changing the file extension is working for you. But it seems rather labor intensive and impractical if you add or modify entries in the file in both Windows and Android and you want to keep one file synced.

For window size in MS Windows, try dragging the edges to the size you want. Then, select File/Exit (important step; don't just click on the window corner "X"). That should save the window size and position parameters. For font size in the PWS window, select View/Change Font and pick what you want. (I usually use Calibri regular 16.)

Strange, indeed. Sounds like the database file is good based on working on tablet and phone, which I assume are different OSs than the PC, thus, different animals. So your "Open with" dialogue box shows both MS Edge and PWS. Is PWS the default program ("Always open with")?

If I was having the issue, I would try PWS on another PC to see if the same behavior exists. (incidentally, I do use a PWS regular installation on all computers .) Also, have you tried a regular installation on your computer to see if you have the same problem as your "green" portable installation? Since PWS (and you've tried several versions) is malfunctioning on your main PC, that defective software interface must be tied to the current PC. You would be able to compare the applicable differences...
