I can confirm I do no see that. The initial situation is that I need to open a database, so I try to open it (see screenshot try-open.jpg) and nothing happens. If I try from the menu File > Open, it does not react either. If I drag and drop the PGN file, the database is imported correctly (see screenshot drag-drop.jpg). Then I set it to be opened at startup (see screenshot active.jpg) but when I relaucnh ChessX, the name of the database is the widget but it looks like it is empty (see screenshot...
version 1.6.6.0 doesn't load databases
Thanks for the explanation. After installing OpenJDK the problem is solved when launching datacrow-client-5.0.0.jar but the error message still pops up when launching datacrow.exe. If this behaviour is expected for the portable version, then I guess the matter can be closed.
JRE11 needed?
Update book error
I think I found out why: to be imported, the language has to be specified in the search mask. However, this is not ideal because if a search is done by ISBN, there can only be a language anyway for that ISBN. A different language would be a different edition and therefore would have a different ISBN.
Could it be that the client only imports ISBN-10s but only if they can be correctly converted to ISBN-13s? If that is the case maybe the conversion-check could be deactivated or bypassed...
