I was using the LINEOUT() function to write to a file. Just to share the information, a script that was taking several HOURS to run was executed in 5 minutes when using OPEN/WRITELN/CLOSE. The performance difference between ANSI and AREXX semantics to write files is not negligible. Both scripts can be downloaded from my github: https://github.com/marciocg/jogos_megasena/ just check the ~.rexx and ~arexx.rexx files. Any feedback is welcome.
