    I removed the App Store version and installed the version directly from SourceForge. I enabled FDA for it. But I still see the same behavior, so it doesn't work. But I also see that version also has the com.apple.security.app-sandbox entitlement. I had expected the direct download version to not have the app sandbox entitlement.

    Well, on Tahoe 26.2 this check doesn't seem to work (see my bug report). I understand there isn't a solid way to do this check. So maybe the wording on the dialog has to change. Maybe not say that it seems the app lacks Full Disk Access. But instead just say the app requires it and the user has to manually allow it. And that you'll keep nagging the user with the dialog, unless they dismiss the dialog completely.
