I'm getting a 404 error when clicking the link.
Sorry, wrong topic
That's a pitty, you should have chosen the new tascam US-2x2HR, the buffer size for Windows can be selected up from 4 samples to facilitate an environment with ultra-low latency
"Never buy a sound-card which doesn’t come with it’s own ASIO driver!" Amen to that. @Jeff Stewart , Did you try to change the ASIO4all-settings using "ASIO4all of-line settings"?
It's working Jao Graca, it seems to work great, a nice solution for a lot of people. One thing, the download links to download Jamulus, downloads a very old Jamulus version.
I don't have a explanation for it, but I do recognize the symptom.

Did you run an internet speedtest, by example https://www.speedcheck.org/ ? Are the results equal to what you pay for? If not, maybe complaining at the ISP can be helpful.
You can place a recognizable name underneath the desktop-icon
You don't need to use --clientname option. Copy the existing C:\Users\<your username="">\AppData\Roaming\Jamulusjamulus.ini file to another name, for example JAm3.ini . Hi Madeleine, where you from? The best method to help you is to use remote software, such as Teamviewer and a Whatsapp (voice) connection at the same time. i want to help you, but then you will have to trust me I'm Dutch, but I don't know if that's a good recommendation . :-)
In that case I need probably to change profile manually always No you don't, are you using Windows 10??
Hi, I hope I can help. First, don't connect through WIFI!!!! Second, if possible try this (old but native) Behringer ASIO driver https://workupload.com/file/7DeLMTz , ASIO4all is not a real ASIO driver, just an emulation. Third, get the same ISP as your friend, the differences (quality of the connection) between ISP's can be huge.
As you know, I've already installed this recording tool. Is it possible to perform an update in a easy way?
Yep the Behringer UMC404HD is great, bought one for my brother, he uses it with a 10 year old notebook. Behringer Asio drivers are also one of the best.
Oké, thanks for the explenation.
Hi Vincenzo, I 'spoke' with you on facebook. Used your webbased recording interface last monday, recording worked great, with the exception of the function "Session reload", when I click on it nothing seems to happen (or I don't understand what to expect ).
Sorry guys, this is in Dutch.
Hi Alfons, That's very strange, are you absolutely sure you are using the dedicated ASIO driver Driver_4-59-0. Did you change the audio input settings in Jamulus and select the right ASIO driver. It's of no use installing the USB ASIO Drivers (For Zenyx Q502USB, Q802USB & Q1002USB Small Mixers)", the users who did suggested this aren't using the UMC202HD, I guess, but a cheaper version/Behringer device that doesn't come with a native driver. If you still suffer high latency, then the audio device...
Listen carefully, you will only says this ones :-) .
Oké, bit that's not what I meant, I've meant the performance of Win 10 vs Linux within a local network, Linux performs better. I'm asuming that Linux also will be faster on an EC2 instance.
My experience is different from Andrew's. Used my own machine (a fast game PC), tried Jamulus both on a windows 10 and a Linux configuration, Linux out-performed Windows 10 by far.
If you buy a Soundcard that comes with a native ASIO-driver, you don't have to use ASIO4al anymore (which isn't a real ASIO-driver, just an emulation of a windows-audio driver) . BUT!!! Your 'Lock-up' problem will persist! As said before, the lock-up problem isn't due to Windows 10 or ASIO4all, it's Jamulus claiming de audiodriver for itself.
Under Windows, some applications can share ASIO-drivers others can't, Jamulus can't. You can overcome it with a program like Voicemeeter, but you wil suffer from more latency.

I do not understand exactly what you mean, but I think a Behringer XR18 can do the job.

The ip-adres of the pc running Jamulus-server! Please tell me what IP address you enter when trying to connect, otherwise I can't help you. Do you know what an Ip-adres is?

yes instead of, but what but what did you fill in exactly? What's the ip-adres of the pc running Jamulus-server??
Use the pc's (that runs the jamulus server) real (given) ip address, most likely starting with 192.168.X.X .
Very interesting, thanks for the tip of the Edgerouter, maybe I will give it a try.
Conclusion, the Boss Katana 50 Mk2 amp doesn't have a native ASIO driver. ASIO4all works but comes with high(er) latency, sometimes twice as high as with a native ASIO driver. Some people don't care but realize that other Jamulus users also suffer from the fact that you hear everything later due to high latency, you will always playing behind the beat. So, if you can spend $ 70, do yourself and especially other jamulus users a favor and buy a cheap audio interface with native ASIO drivers, like a...

the indicator also appears when you slide the fader all the way down .
Try to configure the M-audio to 48.000 Hz, maybe that will solve your problem.
Are u sure Don? I thought this setting only refers to communication with your audio (interface), server delay depends more on your internet connection, among other things, 'misc' settings like 'audio quality'.

The specs of the laptop can not be the problem, on the contrary. Did you buy the laptop recently? If yes, maybe the laptop came with a lot of bloatware https://www.techopedia.com/definition/4237/bloatware . Bloatware can use a lot of computing power, try to get rid of it. Are you using another virusscanner besides Windows Defender, if yes, stop running it before you start Jamulus.
"The starter's comments are correct". I am not convinced.
I am not convinced.
I think topic starter confuses sample frequencies (rates) with audio frequencies. With a sample frequency (rate) of 22.05kHz you will be able to reproduce everything from 0 Hz (20 Hz) to 10 000 Hz, with a sample frequency of 44.1 it will be 20 kHz, I'm sure a lot of people will notice that difference.
Hoi Maarten, Ik heb je een persoonlijk bericht gestuurd/I sent you a personal message.

Also, the connecting clients are displayed by the server as connecting on port 22134 instead of the default 22134. * You've made a typo :-) . What you found about the port numbers is correct, a packet from a jamulus client uses port 22134 the server port is 22124.
Increasing latency a lot, is a well known problem with all routing (audio virtual mixer) software https://alternativeto.net/software/voicemeeter/

Thanks for testing, that's a pitty, but the application Jamtaba 2 (sorry Volkert ;-) ) proofs, that developing a synced metronome is possible, Jamtaba 2 has been developed entirely around that metronome concept. Note, jamtaba 2 is not suitable for band- or choir practising, because it isn't based on direct streaming audio but on intervals.
Maybe this solution will do the job http://www.shared-metronome.com/ . It's a global synced metronome from what I understand.

You're welcome too, I am glad I was able to help. I've never heard of this problem and the last 3 months I've read a lot about Jamulus and helped dozens of users to get up and running. I've updated jamulus 6 times the last couple of months on 6 different W10 machines (from bandmembers), that makes 36 updates in total. Never had any issues at all! Ready to go within 3 minutes.

Friday evening, 5-06, I will test it again during a band rehearsal.
At the server-side the right port is 22124, the client side is using port 22134 . If you want to run a private server, you have to activate portforwarding in your router ( in your case 192.168.1.109 - 22124. I assume that 192.168.1.109 is the jamulus server's Ip-adres??!! P.S. portforwarding is not necessary using a PUBLIC server.

Problem seems to have vanished by itself, tried 3.5.5. client and 3.5.4. client on a 3.5.5. server, hardly any buffer red lights.
mmmm strange, did you use 3.5.5 or 3.5.4. at the client side?? I've noticed tonight I was still using version 3.5.4 on the client, maybe that was causing the poorer performance. I will do another test tomorrow.

Hi Matthias, are you also using/connecting to your own (private) server?? Or are you only talking about the client side?
Last weekend I updated my Jamulus Server (running on Ubuntu 18.04) from 3.5.4. to 3.5.5. On monday I had a rehearsel with my band and I noticed that the red buffer lite, on my win10 client side, lit up very often and the sound was distorted more often. (Client and server are running on the same network) . I downgraded the Jamulus server to 3.5.4. and the descibed behavior is gone. Does someone else has a similar experience????
Oké, so if you want seperated tracks, the only way to go is start the server with the -r option ?
Sounds very interesting, but which is not entirely clear to me, are all the connected clients recorded into seperated tracks or only your own connection and all the rest in one stereo track??

?????? It's an old one ????? 3.5.5. is the latest release.
If you want to use a mixer as an audio interface, only buy one that comes with native ASIO drivers, sooner or later you will notice the limitations of asio4all .
Just installed it, no problems with connecting to servers, old or new ones.

Glad that Don could help you out, have fun with Jamulus. In Jamulus, after hitting the connect button, there's a 'filter option', with that you can search for specific musicians. In Jamulus version 3.5.4. there is also a 'genre list' function, where you can select "genre Classical/Folk/Choir".
You'r welcome :-) , have fun with jamulus .
