In this case, it is the KDE licensing rules that are giving an unreasonable exception to a non-free licence. It also allows the free BSD licence, so another reasonable action you could take is to simply relicence it. To be clear, there is no legal problem here, merely the usage of a non-free licence.

There might not be a conflict in practice, but it's still a non-free licence. BSD fits good for any kind of information. While point 11 makes an allowance for CC-BY-SA-3.0 (not sure why), it doesn't require it, and 12 is explicit that the point 4/5 licenses are fine for any data.

The mentioned (on that webpage) 2-clause BSD license looks reasonable, and is already used by Opus code in KWave.

According to LICENSES, there is a single file: samples/sample.opus CC BY-SA 3.0 According to Gentoo's ebuilds under kde-* categories, kwave is the only KDE project currently using this license in any way.

CC-BY-SA-3.0 is not a free software license, and GPL-incompatible
