Hello Dave, That was quick. The issue is resolved. Unfortunately, I don't know how. Yesterday my Windows 10 OS underwent an update, from the length of time it took and several restarts I take it this was a big update. After this the Grub loading screen works, every time. Thus, apparently, it wasn't the drive format. Something had glitches somewhere, I'm glad the issue is over, though unfortunately I can't point to the reason for it. Dear Drummer, I installed and ran Grub2Win 2.2.0.5 and it gave a notice that "an external program has...". After Grub2Win completed its changes I did a cold reboot and booted straight into the Grub loading window! However, after that, on the next reboot the computer went straight into Windows. Now that is the current situation, when I run Grub2Win, thereafter the next boot is into Grub, but the boot after that is always into Windows. Now at least I can get into Ubuntu when I want to. Dave, I did exactly as you instructed, carefully, all from the browsing window opened in the "EFI Update Actions" window. I then cold re-started the computer and it went straight into Windows. I then did a Diagnose, the summary of which is attached, just in case. Also attached is a screenshot of the current EFI directory.

Hello Dave, I deleted the two partitions, sdb2 and sdc2. When I rebooted there was no Grub2Win. When I opened Grub2Win the same window-notice "Your EFI default boot module was changed by an external program ... " appeared, I cliked "Yes" to update. When I rebooted, still no Grub2Win, a direct load into Windows. I Grub2Win, the same window-notice, I clicked "Yes" to update again and did a diagnostics, the summary of which is attached. Since I thought it might be useful, I have, in the meantime, done the following. In Windows I ran diagnostics from Grub2Win and the summary is here: 200920 01 (initial state) diagnose.7z I then did a cold restart of my computer and the computer booted into Windows right away, no sign of Grub2Win. Dear Drummer, Attached are all my disk devices, as I see them when I boot using an Ubunut Live USB flash drive. It looks, to me, like I should, as per your advice, delete partition sde1, but I am not sure which is the other partition I should delete. Is it sdf3, or sdg, or some other partition? Please advise, according to the partitions as I see them, if that is possible. Thank you, Ivan

I use AVG AntiVirus Free, ZoneAlarm and Zemana AntiLogger Free. You believe one of these may be the problem?

I just installed Grub2Win and thought: "Finally, a way to avoid M$ from bleeping my Grub loader every time Windows updates, which has been suspiciously frequently as of late."
