To do this, you will have to insert the controller into the x86 machine, I use the exotic vliw architecture e2k. I see. That's a real problem with proprietary tooling. To be honest, I can't find any free management tool for this RAID controller other than mfiutil and bioctl-based tools in NetBSD and OpenBSD; so the options are quiet limited. For LSI's SAS HBA cards, There's a source-available lsiutil which can be built for other architectures. I once used that tool to download and upload the firmware...

I'm closing this ticket as the original issue has been addressed.

For LSI's SAS HBA cards, There's a source-available lsiutil which can be built for other architectures. I once used that tool to download and upload the firmware for my 3801X cards on an IBM Power System. However that tool doesn't work for MegaRAID SAS controllers.
Can I ask you one more question? Is it possible to save the current firmware by reloading the new one? I don't think mfiutil can do that currently. Consider using a low-level tool such as megarec for that instead. Note that megarec runs in MS-DOS.
