Thanks gga. I tested both regex and unfortunately none of them worked. In what version of mrViewer was the version regex system changed? I can try to test the portable version of an old version to see if it works. Also what type or regex is mrViewer using? Thanks

Thanks gga. Nope for some reason is not working. I have attached a couple of captures that shows our folder structure and name convention. Also something really strange, I set the regex to be just __v. But at the moment I try to move to other versions with Alt+PgUp/Down when I open the Preferences again I that the regex has been rested again back to ([\w:/]*?[/._]*__v)(\d+)([%\w\d./]*). Is that intended? is a bug? That means that whatever I put ion the regex is going to be reset somehow? I remember...

Hello. We used to have versioning working correctly in mrViewer some time ago. I remember jsut using soemthing like _v, or __v in our case used to work perfectly. Not any more. I opened the Preferences and now in Loading I found this regex: ([\w:/]*?[/._]*v)(\d+)([%\w\d./]*) Which is not working for us. This is an example of one of our files: RND_010__rnd_cg__test__v003.####.exr How we should setup the version regex to get it working again? Using mrViewer 6.1.2 Thanks

Sorry gga. Yeah I looked into it. Unfortunately I couldn't fund the reason because the colors are broken in the Preferences window. the rest of the UI seems to work fine, so we can use it, I have a centralised preferences file, so in theory people shouldn't need to go into Preferences. Is just annoying, but no clue why its happening.

Thanks gga. I did it with same result. I think is something on our side. Im not sure what is it, but I have an old image of our systems and there mrViewer seems to work fine. I need to dig into it. I have attached a capture of how it looks when applying the Black them. I have no idea what can be causing this issue.

Thanks gga. I think the reason for this issue is that we are using the STUDIOPATH envvar to set a common place for the mrViewer setup. In that location there are three files: mrViewer.prefs, mrViewer.lock.prefs and mrViewer.keys.prefs There wasn't any colors file there, I found the colors file in the install dir and copy both the file directly into the STUDIOPATH location and also the colors folder. But no luck so far, same result. I have also tried, unsetting the envar in a terminal and running...

Hello. Just updated to the latest mrViewer on Windows, v5.9.9 . I have noticed the UI has changed, I'm getting very strange colors no matter the color theme or UI style I choose I've attached a capture to show how it looks. About the general changes in the UI I think the only thing I really miss in mrViewer is more love in the UI, I know is a pain and a lot of time. I personally will prefer to stick with one UI style, plain or gtk+ is ok, keep it simple, then I would avoid the use of that rounded...

Yep definitely we can make a wrapper, but is not really a clean solution for this problem I think. Many tools allows you to choose whether or not you want to use OCIO from the envar or from an explicit config file in the settings. Actually, mrViewwer has already everything there implemented, it just need to to what it says in the tooltip, because the preferences are already saving the config file correctly

Hey. Well in that case the tooltip help "Save OCIO Config File in Preferences" I believe it says that what that parameter is doing used it overrides the OCIO en var. The thing is that our generic ocio config is used pretty much eveywhere , and would be great to have a mechanism to override the OCIO envar for mrViewer. thanks

Hello. I would like to use a different OCIO config file for mrViewer, it makes the tools to loads much faster than using the default aces 1.2. The problem is that in the preferences I set it to use "Save OCIO Config File in Preferences", it is correctly saved in the config file, but every time I restart mrViewer it keeps using my config file from the OCIO envar rather than the config file from the mrViewer settings file. I have attached a couple of files you wil the discrepancy between the preferences...

Hello. Quick suggestion for versions change, which is a great feature. When changing to a new version using Alt+PgUp/Down mrViewer starts to load the sequence from the beginning. I think is much useful if lets say I'm in frame 1010, and then switch to a previous version to stick on the same frame and keep loading from it. So I can stop at a certain frame and move between versions quickly. If the frame doesn't exists then make sense to jump to the start. Thanks!

wow, this is great. All the opportunities that opentimeio opens to make editing a more programmatic process are amazing. At the moment, as you said is in early stages, I think if mrViewer can support otio files out of the box, the only dependency would probably be to have oiot installed in the local python install and than have the 2 or 3 options I described before: - Jump between clips - Loop current clip - Loop current clip plus neighbours This will make mrViewer an excellent tool to review timelines...

Hello. I think will be great to have OpenTimeLineIO support in mrViewer. (https://opentimelineio.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) The goal here is to use mrviewer to run a dailies/review session. I'm just talking without knowing how things are working internally, but I suppose that what takes time is loading all the luts files in the lut and baked folders. OCIO 2.0 is around the corner, and this guys are converting this thing into a monster, is even bigger than 1.2, so this problem can scalate. Ah great to know, it was set tot 128, I put it to 32. Is a little bit faster, no idea what are the cons of using 32x32x32 . Any other way to optimize the color correction? Thanks!

were are the settings in Windows? I have searched for al the usual locations in userprofile and AppData and I couldn't find a folder with mrViewer settings. Also the hotkeys file, where should I put it and what should be the name? I'm assuming in the folder pointed by STUDIOPATH. Thanks

Hello. I have recently noticed that mrViewer wasn't as snappier as it was before on start. It used to be pretty quick, and I loved that. We have switch to the latest OCIO, aces_1.2 and we are using using mrViewer 5.7.2. Now when loading images it looks like starting pretty quick and then hangs for around 5 second and open. If I disabled OCIO it opens the same image super fast. No idea if it is the latest OCIO or something in mrViewer. Thanks!

Hello. I'm not sure if I have asked this before, sorry if I am. Is there any way to setup som defaults for mrViewer, like default UI, colors, shortcuts etc, for all users? Like and env var or something similar, then if users change their own settings on top is fine, but would be great to have a base common setup for all. Thanks!

Hello. When running mrViewer from the command line in Windows, if I use --version or --help it opens a window to show the output. Would be possible to just print the output to the stout? Thanks

Hey gga. I looked again into the playback issue. Using the test version you sent me: 5.7.0 The problem happens even when you have two sequences with the same number of frames. Basically when I press TAB to switch sequences the new sequence just jumps to the last frame not to the same frame I had before pressing TAB. Thanks a lot for the quick update. Yep, I agree with your comments that only B is needed. I think this option is almost there. I think there is a bug in the playback, I add a sequence, play, pause at a frame, add another sequence, play it, pause and set it to be B, then select the previous seq and play, when I press tab it show me the last frame of the background sequence not just swaping them. I think if you play a little with playback, adding 3 or 4 sequence and changing the back ground sequence...

Thanks for the update gga. For the A/B buffer I think the current workflow is still not very intuitive. I load two sequences, then I have to select one of them, set it to be the background, then select the other and finally is when I can swap. But this is becaue I have been digging into the tool, for any new user, if he/she is looking for a A/B buffer to compare images is going to be very difficult to guess how to do it. I have been playing around with the Fstops and Gain options, so more suggestions, this time on the color balance side. - There is no reset hotkey for Fstops (exposure) - Would be great to have a simple color correction solution, so apart from the Gain and Fstop, have things like hue, saturation, gamma, bias controls, gain/exposure per channel. Hello. Got some time to test the BG as a A/B buffer solution. I also update to 5.6.8. It works as you said. My only concern is that the idea was clearly targeted to compositing. Personally for a review tool I'm more looking into the idea of switching between two buffers rather than comping them. My bad, sorry, I always forget to click on the save button :) Yeah, version pattern is saved correctly. For the save reel issue Im getting it saving from the Reel window in both, from Right-Mouse button file->Save->Reel As And also from the Reel menu at the top left. In both cases mrviewer crash and the reel is not saved completely, it just creates the file and writes something that I suppose is the initial header, and thats all.
